What's up guys, i'm 20 years old and I attended college briefly over the past 2 years and have gathered a whopping 6 credits (hey at least they're B's) anyway only reason I went was because I was unsure what I wanted to do and kinda felt like I had to... now I know what I want to do, and what major I want and want to go back, starting with community college and transferring to a university. I'm just wondering if any of you guys have had success with going back to school since everyone tells me if you don't go your first year after highschool, you'll never make it. Counselors, teachers, advisors, parents, friends all tell me I have no shot and I should just go to work... What do you guys think? BTW I plan on majoring in Computer Information Systems ------------------     | ||

GO FOR IT YOU GOT EVERY THING TO GAIN AND NOTHING TO LOOSE. MY ROOMATE WENT BACK TO SCHOOL LAST YEAR TO TAKE A FEW COURSES. HE GOT ACCEPTED INTO THE R.N. PROGRAM AT U.P.E.I. HE'S 28 YEARS OLD AND WAS A LITTLE NERVOUS ABOUT GOING BACK TO UNIVERSITY. DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. TAKE THEIR NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND USE THEN TO FUEL YOUR DETERMINATION TO SUCCEED. Go for it guy! I sat out a semester to get my shit together once. Took what seemed like forever to get a masters degree and I still take a class here and there in Tech related stuff. Hey Get back to school, get your education...Try to learn something then go out and conquer your world I'm starting my 3rd school in 3 semesters in 2 weeks...I finally decided after juggling through Marketing, Management, Criminal Justice, and now decided to go with Computer Information Systems....don't let people tell you can't do anything...prove them wrong...Good luck | ||

I can tell u for sure u can do it. I live in Israel, and here evryone has to go to the army from 18-21, only then they can go to university, and are still one of the leeding countries in Hi-Tech | ||

F that bro. Go back. I went right after highschool and all i wanted to do was drink beer, trip and have sex. I dropped out and didnt go back till last year. I am 23 and i made all As. I never made a A in anything in my life cause i just didnt give a shit. Dont worry about it. I still dont know what i want to do. No majors in growing dope at the college i am going to. I really just need something to fall back on if i lose my trade money. | ||

Im 25 and did the exact same thing when I was 18, except I didnt decide to go back until I was 24. I make all A's and B's and I work part time, school full time and live on my own. What the hell kind of parents do you have that tell you dont have a fuckin chance for school??? Shit, I would get a damn Phd just to show them all wrong! Thanks for the advice guys I am now determined to go back and finish school... afterall, i've overcome harder obstacles in my life..I can't let a few more years of studying get the best of me... anyway i plan on returning to community college for the spring semester after i get some money saved for tuition, and hopefully I can transfer to a university like ASU, UMICH, UMASS..etc, something that's cheap and I can afford, any suggestions? I know now I'm ready to challenge the academic part of school, just like moe dank I did my share of partying/drugs over the past few years and I think it's time to tighten my belt, become responsible, and make something of my life. ------------------ | ||

Dude.....GO FOR IT! shit, 20yrs old...your a pup. whats the difference between 18 and 20? Also, now is the time to do it before the kids come along. Fortunately, I made it through college on the first go around, and have been successful in my career, and life. But, once you have kids, its a whole different ballgame. Good Luck!!!!
