okay, i finally get it...i train in a very small quiet gym that i practically own...(nobody else there comes close to my dedication)..this weekend i went to atlanta to a)congradulate "girlfriend" on new job and b)get seriously laid by her....on sunday morning, after admiring my morning physique, she asks if i will go to the gym with her and show her some free weight routines...i dribbled some pre-cum when she said this....what a woman!....she's a member of the infamous bally's by northlake mall in a-town...there i witnessed unimaginable horrors of which you all speak...the cell phones, the music, the no-shit-four-hundred-pound-fat-boy doing tricep pushdowns for an hour, the attire, somebody napping on the incline bench, the fat personal trainers, and worst of all...nobody puts their fuckin weights back...nobody!...i just walked around cursing in disbelief, vocally expressing my disapproval of everything that went on there.....bally's: another roadsign of the coming apocalypse...     | ||

The gym I work out at keeps signing up new people, but hasn't upgraded any new equipment in the five years I've been a member. I see in the time I'm there (six days a week, 1 1/2-2 hours a day) at least three new suckers, I mean new members. I wear a long sleave t-shirt, because one of the trainers told me he's gotten a staph(sp?) infection from the equipment, and sometimes its close to 80-90 degrees with the AC on. Someone finally called the Health Dept. and you see them wipeing down equipment once an hour. Still its nasty. Can't wait for my membership to expire, I'm heading to Golds. I've never seen some of the things you've described. Cell phones while working out? Thats pathetic | ||

I went to the Bally's in Ft.Lauderdale to train once because I knew one of the trainer's there from my gym and he told me that in a 2 month span, they had to kick out 5 gay guys for having sex in the sauna and a 250 lb lady for swimming naked in the swimming pool. Needless to say, I haven't gone back. | ||

I work out at a Ballys and at times I hate but most of the time it's cool. I work out at 10pm so it's a crowd who's into training at that time but between 6pm-9pm it's "Club Ballys". It's some bullshit but regardless some nice looking ladies do go at that time. | ||

lol Club Bally's. That's funny and you hit the nail right on the head. I unfortunately am a member of Bally's in Dallas and have the same problem. I usually go around 8:30pm so most of the cell phone warriors have cleared out by then. Drives me up the wall though. | ||

I'm paid up for the next two years @ Bally's, but I feel your pain...people can get out of hand. The reason I joined is because its a convenience thing...Ballys are all over the place(2 or 3 near the job & one near home). I go early morning when its not yet "Club Night"! But its nice to see the hotties running around once in a while. | ||

Most of you guys know I went in house because of this hsit. Anyway the girl at the tanning place has been after me to come to gold's. On and On about how they need people like me and shit. So I go down there to meet her and the owner and there is not one fukkin piece of free weight equipment anywhere in the whole place. 4500 hundred sq feet of bullshit. All cybex,tread mills and bikes. So the owner says I have heard that you train hard and shit and how about coming here. I just laughed my ass off and asked where the real equipment was. He didn't even get it!!!! I was like man - this is just fukked up. | ||

they fuckin sued my ass cuz i stopped paying them 8 years ago... i told them their club was shit and i wouldnt pay a fucking dime.. and that is a quote... guess what??? i finally had to pay cuz i had a fuck for a lawyer... i only ended up paying them half of what they wanted. but i shouldnt have been forced to pay a dime. they changed my club all around 2 months after i signed up. no free weights and took out the free tanning... i paid an extra 10 a month for that. fuckers. ballys must die | ||

I trained at Bally's when I lived in Toronto. I got into a fight with one of the workers because he said my tank top was too reveiling. At the same time a sexy woman walks by with a skimp bikini top. Oh well. | ||

Bally's is a freaking joke and a rip off. I specifically told them that I only wanted to sign a 3 month contract because I was only in town for the summer. They agreed and I signed the contract saying it was only for 3 months. Well when it came time to cancel my memebership I called them up and cancelled it. I get my CC statement and they charged me another month and they never cancelled it. I went ballistic and called them up and yelled at them. They said they would take care of it but the same shit happened for the next 2 months. I finally had to call their corporate office to get this mess dealt with. After like 4 freaking months they finally cancelled my membership and payed me the money back. But it was such a pain in the ass to go through all that BS. I will never join a Bally's as long as I live. Very unethical!!!! | ||

my girlfriend said to keep it down on the free weight instruction...it seems bally's has a policy on "no outside personal trainers" and i was walking the line by even suggesting a routine and showing her good form....WTF?.... | ||

I did it with Bally's and World gym and never again. Never, and I mean N-E-V-E-R let anyone directly take money from you checking account. Sometime the only way to stop them from billing is to close the account. If you put a block on them there are tons of ways around they can continue to bill you like changing the billing amount by 1 cent. I learned this after speaking with someone in the banking biz. | ||
