Hey, I've been pretty big into mountain biking in the past, I did the 24 Hours of Canaan in W.V. last summer...I've been off bikes, not running, nothing for about 8 months now trying to put on muscle...i'm up to 160 from 120, and now i'm wanting to ride some again. I'm looking into road bikes...i can't find anything under 1000 hardly! Is anything under 1000 trash or something? I'm just wanting the basics, i'd be doing 30 - 150 mile rides with friends around the applachias around my home. what should i be looking for? i've only got 700 to blow on one. thanks     | ||

The Giant road bikes are pretty good around that price, and so are the Cannondale R series. I have a Cannondale R300 I ride I picked up for $350 but it's a little small so I might trade up to get something a tad larger. |
