Speaking hypothetically of course, if we the inhabitants of the US had the chance to make a difference and cast a vote for the Legalization of Marijuana, would you vote yes or no.
Here are some applications that apply to this bill:

Marijuana could only be purchased at designated locations such as local head and grow shops, certain pharmacies and businesses with a special permit to do so.
Marijuana could only be smoked at the local head and grow shops or designated coffee shops and restaurants who incorporate marijuana in their recipes. It could also be utilized in the comfort of your own residence or private confinement, any public use is prohibited.

If you do not know, there are hundreds and hundreds of different strains of marijuana that have their own characteristics and effects. Some highs are described as narcotic, sedated, immobile, uplifting, fresh, fruity and spirited, mind boggling, nausea and just plain and typical excellent.
-Marijuana has over 300 medicinal uses, it primary use is to stimulate appetite in cancer and aids patients and also is still to this day the number one remedy for glaucoma(hence my 10/10 vision).
-Marijuana can be ingested and smoked through water or a vaporizer(where only the THC is extracted). These are safe methods to incorporate and if it was legalized the Herb would be mostly high grade where one would not need alot at all to feel the benefits. Now those who choose to smoke joints, blunts, pipes and gravity bongs those are your lungs not mine.
-In your decision please don't relate marijauna to your religious beliefs and the lies the govt. has spread and exploited, The Almighty Gods laws and the govt. are two totally different things.

So reading this what would you vote , Yes or No. Your participation is appreciated and if you vote NO, EXPLAIN WHY PLEASE. Thanks.

Yes, legalize it! I'm still too damned stoned from last night give a decent explanation. I'll try later, when I come to my senses.

A resounding YES. Herb is not a powerful drug, and I would say less addictive than cigartettes. It is also less harmful to the general population than alcohol; people don't go to a bar, smoke half an o, hop into their cars and slam into a minivan full of kids. They get drunk and do this. There is absolutely no rationale whatsoever behind the illegal status of marijuana. While I don't know and have not researched the government's possible reasoning behind banning this "drug", I doubt it has anything to do with the well-being of the population; like all their decisions, it must be oriented around some kind of financial and corporate motive. That's my $0.02 - good topic though, it'll proabably end up with about 100 posts!

A definate no. I've seen a freshly-smoked friend under the effects of marijuana and he acts like a fucking imbecile. God forbid we have the whole country acting that way because marijuana was legalized.

Hell YES!!! How long do we have to preach this for to get people to wake the f*%k up and recognize it is a beificial PLANT and not the work of satan. So you don't like to smoke, did you ever think about me you selfish prick. People need to leave other people alone and let them use the brain they were given. We don't need other people to think for us. This being election season (brain washing season) I feel it is time for REAL changes. It's the same s@#t year after year, election after election. Big tax cuts, improved health care, better education, decrease the crime rate and put more cops on the streets. It isn't crime thats the problem, it's the laws that create those criminals. Knock off the incredibly hefty price tag for the ridiculous "war on drugs" and you might have a couple bucks to improve schools, clean up toxic dump sites, and give back some money to the people who work for those dollars. Lets just sit on our asses and let what democracy we have left go to waste. Lets let them do the thinking for us. Damn.

havoc- where does it end?...what if you prefer heroin or cocaine to pot (i personally did)....i know several fully functioning opiate-dependent physicians who have been doing opiates daily for 20 years or more, with little effect on their professional lives....how will you cater to their rights as drug-users?....in your mind, its hypocritical to allow alcohol but ban weed, in others minds, it would be hypocritical to allow weed but not meth...what are your thoughts?...

Special Bill, I hear you but I believe there is plenty of hard evidence that Opiates(mostly if not all of them) are horrible for you leading to death and certain addiction to the majority of users. Heroin, cocaine, meth, etc have been proven to be extremely detrimental to your health, there is not one scientifically backed piece of evidence that marijuana is addicting or has caused 1 death and defenitely herb is not making people go broke , lose family and friends and end up on the street. There is no comparison whatsoever.

In California, a law was passed to legalize it for medical reasons. In Oakland and San Fransisco, you can obtain an ID card from your doc and downtown you go. It is amazing to see on TV people lining up, walking to the counter and some dude behind the counter weighs up a "dose" and the customer pays and walks out smiling :-)

You know?, everybody I saw on tv was smiling........

I voted for it.

How could peoples lives be in danger from marijuana? With trust comes responsibility. I really dodn't think people are that stupid. If you can fire up in a bar, smoke shop, or residence, what need is there to take it elsewhere? And if your friends can't handle it then there is a simple solution, DON"T SMOKE. That is no reason why a respomsible human being should not be able to enjoy a nice bowl in a proper setting.

No! The government would put so many regulations on the use of marijuana that the black market would soon overpower it regardless of legality.

The stereotypical weed head is a sad bastard indeed, this person has giving many false impressions that none of my affiliates have one aspect of, all of my friends who smoke are intelligent from professional athletes to high powered suits here in the Downtown area, its sad one basis an opinion on a person who is a complete moron.

I agree Havoc. There is a very bad stereotype for "pot heads". The truth is most people who smoke are not like this. They are a small percentage and a minority. That misconception need to be changed. The truth is most marijuana users are your typical good hearted, hard working, educated people. They are in ALL profesions, ALL ethnic groups, and ALL are individuals.

havoc, u know that i am in total agreement with u. But to classify marijauna as "bad" drug is strictly opinionated. If u dont want to buy it then dont. I think that is pretty simple

Anyone been to Amsterdam? A couple of my friends went a year ago and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Very low crime rate there.

Hey Thick Dog...about your comment on A-dam, I went to college in Holland for a year and believe there are parts of A-dam that are dodgey as all hell..namely the Red Light Distrct. If you go I recomend ytou hit the Old Sailor Pub [always full of drunk rowdy brits] or just grabbing a six pack of Heineken ppunders and walking around the red light district all night and checking out just how sick a place it is

I've always wanted to take a trip to Amsterdam, just to take in the sights and maybe a party favor or two. Maybe next summer. I've heard a lot of freaky stories.

To whoever is arguing that they have seen friends who "can't handle" the effects of weed...
Well I've seen PLENTY of people that can't handle the effects of alcohol. There'se people that can't handle the effects of caffiene and other legal stimulants. The point is, we are free to choose what we can and can't handle. Unfortunately some make the wrong decision, but they are a minority. Those who are more prudent cannot have their freedoms encroached upon based solely on the fact that some choose to abuse those freedoms. There is no perfect society, and there will always be people making the wrong decisions - sometimes with dier consequences, but that's fuckin' life! People have to have the right to make their own decisions. Banning weed, or steroids for example, brings us one step away from having the ability to live our lives. Where do you draw the line?
