I am thinking of buying a bodyfat testing machine and working in the local clubs a few hours a day testing individuals bodyfat. This is not offered at my club now.. can u believe that??? So my question for you guys is: 1.how much do they charge to have bf testing done? 2. What type of machine did they use to test? 3. What else did they offer with that cost? Thanks!! Can someone pleez explain what the hell is going on with the board!

At the gyms I have been to they use skin calipers and don't charge anything. Some of the people performing the test have no earthly idea what in the hell they are doing. And I have no earthly idea what is going on with the board.

only way to give accurate data is use the same test method from the same person. so if you test someone (regardless of method) at 20% they may not actually be 20%. the only way they would really know if they are making progress is if you continually test them the same way. i have used teh electric impedence stuff. i tested a 33% last year mid cycle... while the caliper test was 11%. nice little difference... you cant see abs at 33% thank you very much. calipers by a trained hand are pretty good. electric stuff is simple. your not gonna make alot of money at all. at most i have seen calipers charged at 5-10 dollars... and why would someone pay for the electric impedence, it takes 20 seconds. go buy a water machine

That doesn't sound like a very profitable business idea. Anyone can buy a skin caliper for 2 bucks, read a chart and do it themselves. You may want to add some more value by offering personal training services. You can then charge to design your clients a personalized diet & training regimen. I'd pay for that.

I use this a cal's it works pretty good. Then follow up with the formula below - Step One: Multiply your weight times 1.082. Step Two: Add 94.42 to this number. Step Three: Multiply your waste ( in inches ) times 4.15. Step Four: Subtract the result of step 3 from the result of step 2, this is your fat free body weight. Step Five: Subtract your fat free body weight from your total body weight. Step Six: Multiply the result of step five times 100. Step Seven: Divide the result of step six by your total body weight. This is your bodyfat percent. machine are too much money I think - Hope this helps - I will do both and run an average! Normally with in a couple percent! The Tanita body fat percentage scales are a piece of crap!! Perhaps the $600 scales are better than the consumer $100 models, but I don't want to pay $600 for a machine to tell me I'm a fat ass! |
