yeah i have taken zoloft a long time ago the worst part of it is the sexual side effects. i take effexor right now and it works pretty well i guess not too many sides.

If you are afraid of side effects, you should definitely look into marijuana!!!

The marijuana is not as effective as prescribed antidepressants. Marijuana tends to make things better short term, but can help depression. Antidepressants, especially ssri's (zoloft, paxil, prozac) are designed to ease depression and make it easier to change habits & mindsets. True, marijuana can do the same, but not often as intended. you can get a month supply of paxil for 30 bucks, so look into mail order type pharmeceutical companies, they are sometimes much cheaper than the local pharmacy

This yr. was a bad yr. for me and I've been on Zoloft for about 7 months and I find it helps my depression.If you get sexual sides,just take an extra shot of test

I'm currently on Zoloft. I've been on it for a few months now and I did notice when I 1st started it that my appetite dropped and I felt sick when I forced food down. I feel fine now but I need to get my stomache bigger now. It helps take the edge off the day, It does prolong the time to finish durring sex and lower your drive alittle. i took zoloft for 4 months and it did make me very tired i had to take it at night,otherwise if i took it in the morning i would feel sleepy,it did lower my libido but i was single at that time so it didnt bother me!! my craving for carbs was much lower than normal,i took 100mg at first then asked my doc for 50 mg instead,felt much better on lower dose!!! go ahead but dont spend your life on it!!!,by the way your intensity in the gym will be much lower sorry;-(

Paxil totally saved my life, and without it, I can't even get into the gym.
The sexual side-effects suck, but the chick won't usually complain since it means I can go hours without climax.
I'll usually skip a dose right before I plan to have sex. Also, about 250 mg/day of Gingko Biloba helps.

can't say enough good things about paxil. Sexual side (not being able to finish) went away after maybe three weeks. Definately helped me in a large way.

I just had a buddy start Zoloft after getting off roid's. He felt that the roids didn't cause him to be depressed but increased the likehood of a pre-existing condition coming to light.

He's a good bud, and that 100mg 1tqd really helped his condition alot.

Let me weigh in here.

First of all skipping a dose right before having sex will do nothing. SSRI by nature have an extremely long onset of action and an equally long half-life. This is why you still get the effects after 2 weeks of being off of the medication, and why it takes 2 weeks for you to feel anything at all. Paxil is one of the best but there is a "new" one out called Celexa with mild sexual side effects. If you are worried about prices/insurance/etc, you can wait because Prozac (fluoxetine) will be out in a generic form...and not to burst anyone's bubble but the reason Prozac has more sides is because it has been out longer and more tests have been done on it than the all the other SSRIs combined. More tests mean more people to complain.
