When I played football in school I used to use the 4 way neck machine(I don't know if you've seen them), but I'd usually do 2 sets in each direction. Shrugs work and upright rows work your neck to a certain extent. I also get a neck workout when my girlfriend sits on my face and I eat her box. IP: Logged |

4 way neck machine works good. Also I bought some thing from www.ringside.com its a weighted strap you wrap around your head and perform the exercises it shows you to do. TD: I gotta get me a girlfriend. If not for anything else a good neck work out. ------------------ IP: Logged |

yea used the 4 way neck machine in highschool football also. my neck is so fucked up from playing football though that i dont work it all, I dont wanna fuck it up any more than it is already. I pops, creeks, grinds, snaps and every other freaking thing. just be careful if you do. IP: Logged |

When I was in Brazilian jiu jitsu, we would spend 30 minutes before every training session working out our necks. We'd lie on our backs and do 300-500 reps of head raises, then the same reps of head side to side (basically moving your head left to right, back and fourth with it slightly elevated from the floor). Another exercise I did was bending at the hips and putting your head on a pillow on the floor, so that your weight is supported mostly by your neck and stabilized by your legs, while your arms don't touch the floor. Then rock your neck (and your whole body with it) back and fourth. I had an invincible neck! Nobody could ever choke me out! Bill Goldberg, the pro wrsetler, puts a towel on his head and 45lb plates (1-3!) on top and does head raises. IP: Logged |
