The soap and laundry detergent thing is not a goof. I've heard of lots of people who get itchy skin when there is some particular chemial additive in the soap, laudry detergent, or fabric softener. Now that I think of it, I think I have heard of someone who has your particular "sensitivity". I'll ask.
