and needless to say, I am not looking forward to it, what is the procedure for the ones who have had it done??? I know I'm gonna get drugged up, how long is the surgury going to take, somone told me that I will lose at least 7 pounds cause I won't be able to each much, and I will be drugged up all the time, I'm not looking forward to losing 7 pounds considering it took my all summer to pack it on, anyone have horror stories????? My widsom weren't that bad and I had all 4 pulled. Everyone is different. I didn't even use all my pain killers. I was only in pain (not major) for about 3 days. The holes where you teeth used to be is the pain. They take 6-months to close up. They dry out and food gets stuck in them. You're in for some fun. And no I didn't train for a week either. I didn't lose 7lbs though. Maybe a couple. IP: Logged |

i had all 4 of mine done...they gave me some gas to lighten the paid, mine bled for 7 days. i am not kiddin. one of my holes didnt close up fully like the rest for a bit and got food stuck in it and it hurt. i didnt use any of my pain killers. but ya you cant eat worth shit. for at least 3 days without getting shit stuck in there or makin them bleed or busting open the stitches. i didnt eat solid foods for 6 days. what a bitch. drink lots of water to keep some water weight if it makes you feel better  peacekram-mark IP: Logged |

Had mine pulled in January. They gave me tha laughing gas (IV) to knock me out. The whole procedure took about 20 minutes (that's what they told me). The pain killers afterwards had me nauseous (spelling)for 3 days. It was a good excuse for my girlfriend to "baby" me. She cooked me Healthy Choice Soup (chicken and rice) most of the time. Had mine pulled last year, I had 6 removed, damn man I will pray for you, this had to be one of the worst experiences of my life but I still got my 10 meals in every day, I put all my meals in a blender and drank them, you wont lose weight if you can fight the pain and get your meals in. Its not bad with the novacaine. Doesnt hurt a bit. You just hear what sounds like your tearing roots out of the ground and thats kind of weird. The drugs are good, especially when you go home and drink some beer-FUN! IP: Logged |

My wisdom teeth were impacted.. I had to go to the hospital and they unlocked my jaw to get at them, as they were still underneath the gum line attached to the bone. The pain of having the teeth removed was nothing to the pain in my jaw. It felt like someone hit me in the jaw with a crowbar when the pain killers wore off. IP: Logged |

When I had my done they got me to count to 3 at 2 I was gone.I woke up to this incredable pain and my mouth was bleeding. Whatever they gave me was potent cause I coudn't walk straight if my life depended on it. I couldn't shave for a while so I looked like a monkey with a swollen mouth. To make things worse I started drinking and smoking(weed) a week later and infected my mouth.Had to go in twice to pop the puss that was trapped where they had stitched me up. Third time it got infected I popped the puss myself while working out(don't ask me how) I was lifting and grunting and all of a sudden I felt a little pop in the back of my mouth I felt all this fluid in my mouth and I was like shit man I must have busted my stitches open but I found out it wasn't my sitches. That was one of the worst experiences in my ENTIRE life. The only thing worst was my appendectomy. I had to get my 4 wisdom teeth pulled under the supervision of a surgeon and anasthesiologist as well as a few nurses. Because of a rare allergic reaction I have to most general anestheasia, they had to use some sort of drug to put me to sleep, and did without any local anesthesia. I remember partially waking up during the operation and seeing lights and blurs and pain, then passing out again. Then I woke up in the hospital bed with cotton in my mouth and those heart monitor wires tapped into my chest. I could barely open my eyes and think clearly and my mouth was killing me. I couldnt talk to anyone around me, and all the nurses were too busy to notice me. I had to sit there for 4 hours in pain until a doctor came by and talked to me. It was another 5 hours before they took me to my room. I was required to stay in the hospital for 2 days and pee into a container every time I wanted to use the restroom. I ate jello, frozen pops, juice, and drank plenty of water for those 2 days and a week after. I constantly had blood filling up my mouth, and my whole jaw was sore. God, I hated that. And even worse, I found out my girlfriend had cheated on me while I was cooped up in the hospital on the very same night I tried to call her from my hospital bed. That was definitely one of the worst weeks of my life. Cheers! IP: Logged |

I had mine pulled when I was 17...I didn't think it was any big deal. But the first day, eat in front of mirror (I lived on yogurt and shakes) because your mouth is so numb you have no control over yourself. ------------------ IP: Logged |

hey bro ..i had all 4 of mine done last year ..they knocked my ass out cold...i can remember hearing them talk while they were doing it but it was almost like a dream ..then you wake up and you cant feel shit ...over the next few days ..i lived on jello and pudding ...but i never really had that much pain..side note i didnt even really take to many of the pain killers..so i really wouldnt be that worried bro...its a piece of cake

Bro, had mine done a few years back (all 4 at once). Everyone is different, but for me, they had to hammer the bottom ones out since they were impacted (sp?). Have lots of protein drinks handy...because it's liquid diet time. Took about an hour, they knocked me out. When I came to, it was like I was totally hammered...couldn't walk, talk or see straight. My pants and shirt had blood splatters all over... Watch out for dry sockets, thats when the clot comes out of the hole. OUCH!!! Happened to me at night, and I had to take 10-12 Advils just so I could make it until the docs office opened in the morning. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I just got an appointment to get my wisdom teeth out TOMORROW. oh well, no time for anticipation hardly. i've already been examined, the top ones will come out easy, but they said the bottom ones are facing forwards, so they may be a "little difficult" to remove. Would it be a bad idea to smoke up while I've got the stiches?? i'll go ahead now and enjoy my last day of solid food for a possible while. IP: Logged |

I had four done last year. Two were impacted, and had to be cut out. I was told by a few friends to ask the doc the inject me with a steroid after the operation, in order to reduce the swelling. The doc said that if i get this injection, my chances of getting a dry socket will increase greatly. I got the injection, the swelling went down after about two days, and then the mother of all fuckin' pain began when the dry socket formed. It hurt to drink, eat, even to open my mouth and let cold air in. After a few more quick visits to the doc, it cleared up. Dont get the shot. The dry socket hurt like 10,000 motherfuckers!!!!!!!!!!!
