gone were the days when bodybuilding is an art of body sculpting, the days of Larry Scot,Frank Zane,Arnold & Lee Haney, now it's about how huge, never mind about bloated tummy,or skin that need touch up,never mind about one's body turning into a walking pharmacy as long as you reach that magic number 300LBS......never mind about slow death..who cares what happen to M. Benaniza,
or Andres munzer as long as one can look huge
never mind in the beginning one want to be healthy, hey steroid is the game,if you ain't doing it you are a sissy.....hey I want my sons & daughters to take it too,I want them to be huge too...oh well look at Laura creavalle she's more a man than Chris Aceto & I want my daughter to look like her.....hey what the heck if I have to bury my sons & daughters so be it as long as they look huge.........

Well...as much as I do agree about the old school guys (I'm only 19 but have done my studying of the old iron game players) I have to say that NOT EVERYONE IS INTO STEROIDS. Yes, I can say that I probably will be soon, but the main reason I got into bodybuilding is that it was/is/and will continue to be fun! I think the advances made in pharmacology/supplementation/training, etc., are all positive things--but like everything else, will be exploited by many. You have to look at things in a positive light, no matter what the situation may be!! And is this really the place to be whining about this stuff??

Whaaaaaa! You made me cry. I agree I like the classic look, but lets be real the old guys took roids and what is happening now is a natural progression, if you don't like what is happening to the sport, you'll really hate it in 10 years cause it is just gonna progress even further. I suggest you read Muscle Media and follow the natural bodybuilders.

Bodybuilding used to be about building an impressive and good looking physique. Now it's just about being the biggest. Who cares about symmetry, appearance, or how one even gets there. It's all about being "big." What a waste...

If BB competitions would hold drug tests, or even "visual drug tests" (i.e. look at Ronnie Coleman and say "lol, bullshit... the exit's that way buddy") the sport would benefit greatly. People (most people) don't look in BB mags anymore and say: "Wow... check out that guy (or girl's) physique. I want to look just like him/her," they say: "Holy shit look at that freak! He's a walking steroid factory! Ahhh, she looks like a man! Where'd her breasts go?!??!"

It's sad. Sad indeed. Oh well...

We all have our opinions on this one.

I like the Arnold-era look better, but whatever walks your dog - after all you only get one body.

'every cripple has his own way of walking'.
I agree with almost everything you said. But the old timer's used steroids also, no doubt.
I don't think you'll be flamed here (to much, hehehe) because it's mostly sex, drugs and rock'n'roll that kicks ass on this board, but post this thread on the anabolics discussion board and dig yourself a fox hole.
Later.
