Me being a fire fighter I would have to say the days of the old drunks hoping on a truck to fight a fire in just a turn out coat are over. You have to be in decent shape to get on a paid department, so guys are getting bigger! My buddy is doing gear and is getting ready to go on a paid department. Gives him a better advantage if he is young and strong.

Big or small , my hats off to all Fire Fighters....
Times are changing everyone is realizing the importance of weight training.

Just my two cents,
Tony

I have'nt checked out too many firefighters lately, so I have nothing to contribute here. Got to give them props for bravery, though. Hell, If some hot looking ladies joined the fire department, I'd turn to arson as a first hobby.

My dad was a Captain. Back then, they didn't really workout that much. He was in shape, but he definately didn't lift weights to grow. Now it seems that firefighters workout more and they have access to better equipment.

My "hats" off to them - they put their lives on the line every time they go out!

In my State there's a recruitment drive on in Sept that I'm hoping to be accepted into. There will be around 3000 applicants for 30 jobs. The last drive was in 97, and I'm doing everything I can to make it in this one. I'm confident with all aspects of the testing and I've been training so hard, when they take a look at me, they'll know I can handle it.
