Check it out, this is what I'll be driving at the end of August http://www.nissan-usa.com/frameset_maxima.html

Whatcha all think? I took this thing on a test drive two weeks ago. I must say, it's so damn comfortable inside that I'm afraid I'll end up taking a nap at the wheel one day.

Warik, with any luck, I'll be getting into a 5-speed Maxima myself sometime in 2001. I've driven the '98 SE 5speed across Canada, and it is sweet to say the least. Drove 200km/h and the car didn't behaved as though I was cruising on my way to the grocery store! If you ask me, the Maxima's like a front-wheel drive, Japonese BMW for half the price! Roomier, more comfy and faster than a 528i, and pretty close to a 540i with the automatic trans.

Actually, vlaovic, the 2000 Maxima is virtually an Infiniti I30.
http://www.autoweb.com/researchnew/compareDetails.htm?modelone=2000NISMAXIMA%2D%2DGLEF4SDN%2D%2D&modeltwo=2000INFI30%2D%2D%2D%2D%2DBASF4SDN%2D%2D&pricerange=&searchtype=sure

It's almost the same thing except the Maxima is about 5-6 grand less (when you include all of the options).

Good luck with getting your new one in 2001. =) Only 19 days left for me... can't wait. But ewww, 20 days and then college starts. Oh well.

Whoa shit Future One. That.... "car" rules! I'm glad to see that not EVERYONE is just sitting around scratching their asses when it comes to developing new useful technology. With any luck, I'll be wealthy enough to buy one before everyone on the block owns one. Nothing like telling your buddy across the city "I'll be there in a few minutes" when you plan to go out.

Warik although the one is based on the other and most of the specs are similiar, there is a big difference on the quality of the interior. Both are dope as cars and value wise its hard to beat it, but as far as styling and interior go they are different. Also the ride is different (maybe the suspension settings) My girls mamma has a Maxima and I have the I30 (so you can see why I commented hahah)

I saw a show on that guy and his car. He's been working on it since 1962 and he's not really that much closer to selling them now than he was in 1968, when he got his patent.

heh heh thanks Warik! yeah, it's a pretty interesting concept, I actually read up on it in a Popular Science mag, and those things are expected to be around all over the place by 2010. All they have to deal with right now is: Safety(they have to prove that it's as safe as driving)and Cost(right now it's about a million $$$ but with mass production they hope to get that down to 80k $$$)

I going the 96 lotus esprit V-8 route myself. It will be about another year. The asking cost for a used on now is around $60,000 for a super clean is under 10,000 milse, but an okay on with about 40,000 mile goes for about $45,000. They do not hold there value very well.
