lc576er is right - but maybe a little paranoid. You're easy to find - it doesn't have to be a fed either. It can be the guy you ripped off, etc. The Internet uses a protocol called TCP/IP. An IP address is an identifier of where you are. (Your copmputer and your network). even with dynamic IP addressing, you are easy to find. Dynamic IP addressing means your IP address weill change whenever you log on - this is done by using what is called a Dynamic Host Coniguartion Protocol (DHCP) Server. Your Ip addy's are all stored on the DHCP server. It is easy to find out when certain users had a specific IP addy. Just use caution. You don't have to be a computer guru to do this. Take it easy, check. I read your post on the other thread, and there is no need for you to make silly, internet-based, violent threats towards anyone. I have never made a post pertaining to any illegal activity, yet I don't go around policeing the Chat board. It is a free-speech oriented board. And while you are objecting to insurance fraud - one form of criminal activity - you make violent threats at the same time, which is another form of criminal action. This makes you sound hypocritical and immature, considering the threats you spit are conveyed through a keyboard, rather than your lips in a face-to-face manner. I don't disaprove of you expressing your objections to insurance fraud, especially considering your occupation, but that still gives you no right to threaten people. By all means, give your opinon on issues that concern you, but don't pollute the Chat board with threats that we all know cannot be followed up.
