Do you like training alone or with a partner? I usually like to train by myself because I like to go at my own pace, but a couple of times per week, I like to squat and bench with freak that trains in my gym. This guy is 5'10, 265 lbs and incredibly powerful. Granted he has some bodyfat on him, but it's pretty fun squatting with him. Occasionally, I'll go up to 4 plates and grind out a few reps, then he'll get under it and basically jump up and down with it. Last week he did 405 for 8 reps on the bench and today he says he is going to try 500 for the first time. I am almost afraid to spot him. I like training with huge motherfuckers, because I think it inspires you to train that much harder. It may be an ego boost training with skinny, weak people, but I don't think you get as much out of it. IP: Logged |

I train w/ my husband. Although he lifts MUCH HEAVIER than I do, he's always there to tell me i.e. "Do you want legs like Monica's?" Gosh, this sort of stuff pushes me even harder. He motivates me & pushes me beyond what I think I can do! Lately, I've had a female personal trainer training me for my next fitness competition. She's WONDERFUL because she's taught me things my husband hasn't taught me! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Fitnes1 you were talking about things she's taught you training right? I'm just kidding, I knew someone on this pervert board was going to say something, so I wanted to be the first. IP: Logged |

I'd rather have a trianing partner. I have eben through alot but I got one of my buds who is damn good. Always stays motivated and if one of us isn't the other gets him up to the task. Spotting perfectly to squeeze out the absolute most out of each set. I think training partners can make or break you, yuor definetly better off by yourself if you have a bad partner. Rotten, you must have mistaken this for another board. There Are no perverts here. Shame on you for even suggesting such a thought. IP: Logged |

i train by myself, if i train with a partner, my workouts lag and i can't focus. i only like to train with a partner when i go really heavy and might need a spot... ------------------ "The greatest risk is not taking one." IP: Logged |

Training with a partner is definitely better for me! My boyfriend (also a personal trainer) is awesome at coaching me to get the best out of my lifts. He continuously critiques me and switches up my workouts so I get the most out of them and don't get bored/burned out. He's also great at motivating me - making me push myself harder and past the limit I would stop at if I was on my own. If you find the right person, they can do wonders for you! IP: Logged |

i train alone, ive gone thru workout partners like you guys go through weed. guess im to intense for them....but i do prefer training alone, unless there are some other crazy hardcore mofo trying to break me..then im always game. ------------------ "...damn you for not giving my TEST" - Metallica "After this show i'll be fat and happy again.....If i make it to the show...." - Lee Priest "Lets put some weight on the bar.." - Shawn Ray IP: Logged |
