P.S. how's the back aky.

sounds like the fat guy at my gym who yells everytime he does a rep and the fat fuck if lifting lb's that are about 6 times to heavy. My crippled grandmother has better form than this tub. I usually dont rag on anyone especially overweight people when they are trying to workout, but when they act cocky I will fuck with them

We have a couple of these "shadow boxers" in our gym, normally skinny little twigs, but thankfully none have started rapping. I also like the little dudes who start flexing their biceps in the mirror immediately after doing a set of curls. Of course they're going to be a little bigger right now you idiot, it's called "pump". Don't worry, it'll go away in 30 minutes and you'll be back to your normal stick-arms self. You just have to wonder what is going through someone's head when they're doing crap like this in a gym where 50% of the guys are much bigger.

Rapping? LMAO!!

We've got a couple of guys that videotape themselves working out -- screaming through every set (even on wrist curls). Talk about entertainment!

This guy wasn't rapping, but he had a wife beater tucked in tight to his daisy dukes walking like he had a stick up his ass. I don't think this guy breathed for the whole hour he was at the gym. He had ITIHBL (I think I have big lats) Syndrome too. I'm surprised this 175lb idiot made it through the door with the way he was walking. Why are people so stupid? Just go in the fucking gym and lift.

Unfortunately, most gyms have these 150lb weaklings running around the gym, swinging weights around, grunting, etc. This is an obvious sign of low self confidence, and rightfully so because, after all, they are SMALL! I had one good experience with one of these types at my gym. I took him aside after one of his awful displays and explained a few basics to him. I went even further and worked with him for a whole week, going through the basics, slowing him down, etc. He still isn't very big, but he is more disciplined, much quieter, much stronger, and MUCH MORE HUMBLE. Granted, we can't do this with everyone, and I don't know what made me help him out other than pure pity, but it seems to have worked

You think these guys are weird? You should try training at World Gym Philadelphia. There are people who walk around with their bare ass hanging out, people who do chinups on squatracks when someone else is squating, people practicing golf swings with dumbells, people dancing, homeless people sleeping on the floor, people having their haircut (aprons and all)... you name it. I ain't making this up!

The health club that my brother belongs to here in Ohio also has a bar. I guess the older guys that play raquetball like to have a drink afterwards. Funny thing is that this "bar" is within walking distance to his house, and not another bar for 10 miles.

I think he did that for a month until she told him she had a Boyfriend. Well, he doesn't come to the gym anymore, poor guy ! Real geek !

every week at my gym comes a new 125pounder who doesn't know anything. Me and my bro. were workin out lookin at these two skinny kids look like morons (Even the girls were laughing) and when they finish they push or punch the machine... WTF is that about! They almost broke the squat machine cuz they forgot to pull the break so it just collapsed. Oh and by the way fuck those 120 pounders who shadowbox, or yell and scream when they lift what most people warm up with, and that almost break equipment.

last week there was a similar asshole at my gym. He was watching me bench press then he came over and put 225 on the bench next to me. He was little! Anyway, I watched hime take the weight and and lowere and it stayed there, I WALKED AWAY and he dumped the weight and made one hell of a noise-squealing like a pig at the slaughterhouse. I work a swing shift so I get into the gym when my energy levels allow it. Sometimes it's 6pm, other times it's 5am.....As long as I get in there 4 times a week I'm cool. I was training in the morning and was using the standing 1 leg curl machine. Mind you, I just worked 11 hours on an assembly line with a bunch of jerks. This 150 lbs kid walks in front of me with a broomstick and starts doing twists with them. He came about 2 inches from my face. I tried to compose myself and said, "Would you mind going somewhere else? You almost hit me." This little punk with the white, tight tank top and pants down to his knees looked at me like he was a hard-ass or something and stepped back, staring at me. AT this point I looked at him and said, "What's your problem you little dick?" That hard attitude went away as quickly as it appeared. I hate people that have no gym ettiquete.

Small guys are not the only morons at the gym. I usually work out early in the morning but last week I had to go at 5:00 pm on a Monday. I was doing flat bench next to some 250 lb. fat ass who thought he was the shit. He probably had alot of muscle but he had alot of fat covering it. He was working out in spandex and a tank top and he sounded like he was in labor during his sets. He pressed 275 for mabye 8 then got up, yelled, and circled the bench all pissed off like he was a beast. Then for his grand finale he benched 315 for 3 with his fat ass friend yelling at him and pulling up the bar. I'm not too big, about 185, but I can bench. So after his set, I benched 315 for 7 reps with no spot and shut his fat ass up. He was looking at me in disbelief. He had to feel like an idiot.

Sorry for the long post.

it sure baffles me that everyone here started at the gym with full knowledge of lifting and weren't soft or flabby and never bothered anyone else they worked around. I know some guy's are just idiots who can't be helped, but a little guidence is good for the whole gym. sure, I wanna slap a few of the kids at my gym too, but some of the long timers need it too. just a little flame from a little guy.

When I started working out 3 years ago I was probably the smallest guy in the gym. I still remember my first goal was to put up the 45s in the bench!!! I never had an attitude of any kind though. What pisses me off though big time is some big dudes that think theyre the shit and that they own the fuckin place giving weird looks to everyone and disrespecting the little guys. I respect and admire the fact that they have worked hard to get where they are but it gives no reason for an attitude and all that arrogance. I guess the reason Im ranting right now is because people like those had made me feel bad about myself just because I wasnt genetically as big as they where allthough I was putting the same effort as they did. But size and looks are not the #1 thing in this life PERIOD! What people should see is the effort someone puts into something. And if someone is good in one thing theres no reason to get cocky at it whatsoever, as a general rule.
Bottom line: people should mind their own business, be humble (cause theres always someone better than you) and support the new guys. Im so sick and tired of big arrogant pricks that try to take their issues on other (smaller)people. A little bit off topic but had to get it out of my chest as a little guy

I was at this gym 2 days ago and this 15 year old 6"2 120lb stick was talking and he says that his personal trainer told him his routine. WTF does a 15 year old need a personal trainer for? There was also this dumb hockey jock and his friends. He squated 180 x 3 with shitty form. I would say he was about 180 lbs. When he did it he walked around like he was king shit or somthing. I felt like ruining his day so I took my all my 150lbs and busted out 300 x 8. Ass to the ground. They all just staired..... he he he I hate hockey jocks

WEll those last two posts certainly changed the tone.

I see both sides. Me, I been working out for coming up on two years now with weights. When I started I was a green. But I certainly made sure that before I went to the gym I knew what the exercises were that I was going to do and practiced how to do them when I got there. There was no help for me. Couldn't even get the fucking personal trainers who were paid to help out newbies like me to help me out. They just kept giving me the runaround and saying that they would get back to me. For a few months I watched them train new people that came in and just act like I wasn't even there. But I had made a personal committment to myself to learn and do and train consistently. I had my big bodybuilding book at home and magazines that told you and illustrated how to do the different exercises. So I trained myself. Worked on proper form. Worked at feeling the muscle, squeezing the muscle, feeling the pump. Expanding my knowledge. Doing it right.

I finally quit that dumb ass gym and joined a different one. I ain't real big, but I am alot better than I was when I began and am working on getting bigger. I go to the gym and do my business and focus on why I am there. I don't waste no time chitchatting and getting to know the people there. I always ask if someone is using equipment first and always let others work in when they ask.

I see the big guys and admire them and where they are at, knowing how they got there (through hard work). I applaud the overweight people who come to work out because at least they are trying. The skinny people I envy there metabolism but not too much.

But the assinine idiots who come and just take up space, I can't stand. There was a couple of them yesterday who annoyed me. They were working out together and were spending more time chatting and getting in the way than they were getting down to business. What's more, even with signs posted all over the place at eye level, they didn't put their weights back where they found em.

So you see, I agree with both sides. And I have gotten rather long on this. People need to come to the gym for the right reasons and those who have been in the gym for a long time, sure would be great if you could be supportive. Not saying that you all aren't just saying that I have run into a few who weren't . NOT HERE THOUGH! LOL.

PEACE bros.

Like most guys I began training as a beginner And a really bad one at that! I had the passion and the drive but I didn't know what the hell I was doing. I'd wake up, do a few sets of curls and lateral raises (gotta looked pumped for school eh!). Then I'd go train at the school's gym on my lunch break, day in and day out I did only one exercise: the pec dec...all my lunch break was spent on the pec dec!

I then joined a gym and the gym manager took me aside and told me how bad I was training and instructed me on the basics. Had he not showed me how to train I'd probably still be doing only curls, lateral raises and pec dec ... and I'd still be a 5'8" 145lbs weakling.

Everybody must start somewhere. But somebody who refuses to listen to more experienced (even giving them some attitude) is just plain stupid and doesn't diserve any respect.

As I always say, it's okay to start out as a beginner ... but only a dumbass finish as a one!

Here's a funny story about a psycho at my gym. This guy talks to himself. Here's a sample of what he says..."OK, I have to get ready for this next set...ARe you ready?....Yes I'm ready...Then let's go...Come on you can do it!" and he keeps on talking like this throughout his whole work out. Now, I mean it's ok to be vocal in the gym, but come on, when you start answering your own question out loud there is something wrong with you!!!!!!!!!

Going back to the earlier post, i do try to help out the new kids with proper form and bits of info. and everyone was appreciative, except this last time i tried to help this 120 pound guy except he thought he knew it all. Well that fucker has been going to the gym all summer, and he still looks the same, i'm glad. And he still does stupid wierd shit, which i'm also glad, cuz he's a case that can't be helped. I hate both the big guys that act like asses to the smaller guys, and the smaller guys that think they know it all and flex their 12" bicep in the mirror... these guys are incredible, i would wait to go home and flex it so nobody could see it, lol. Oh yeah, and the old old guys that look at you funny and take your equipment when you turn around and then don't want u to work in.

Gettinhard,
I had to look at your profile and make sure that we are not going to the same gym. We have this lard ass that does the same shit you just described. The worst thing is that he constantly dispenses bad advice to the younger, more naive kids. He brags about how many dips he can do as well as his adeptness at the art of chin-ups. I personally have never witnessed him do either of those exercises and had to ask him to show me how to perform them correctly. His answer was "I am doing legs and biceps today, come back day after tomorrow and I will do a complete chest/back day with you and show you where you are going wrong." I just laughed and said, "I think I'll pass, I didn't really think you'd take me up on it anyway."
This guy is about 6'1", 260ish, est. 25% or worse bodyfat. I just don't want to be that "in shape", if you know what I mean. LOL!

Today, at my gym, i saw a 5'9" 140 lb. jackoff wearing a shirt that said "100% NATURAL". No freakin' shit you're 100% natural. Nuff said.

I see these little wimps doing all the same stuff. they get into the gym and immediatly go to the bench and load up to 225. then they lift and they cannot do it. I hate when these dumbasses go bench and they say of I did <weight> today. yeah I saw you cheated. they let there twigs go out of form to get the weight up.

I go to different gyms during the week. at one there is this fat guy. he loads up the leg press to about 800 or so. he leaves the thing locked and just presses it about 6 inches. what a dumb ass.

I love this one. I am not a big guy. I have muscle but my height and such doesn't let me build globbs of mass. but I am strong. stronger than most think I am. theres this little 19 year old wimp at about 140 lbs. I am doing standing curls and I was on my warm up set. he gets this weight and he looks at me while he is lifting. he only does like 5 reps cheating. I got that bar he was using and curled it about 15 to 20 times and then I just looked with a smirk. I never saw that dumb ass again.

Okay, I have to jump in with a gym-jackass story. Here's a bit of background on me: First of all, you guys should know I'm not terribly big. I used to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - a weight-class dominated sport, so size was not encouriged. I am however strong, and I've been bellow 5% bodyfat. I have been working on size since I stopped training for submission fighting, however. So, being a smaller guy, I tend to get more pissed at the big guys who act arrogant, especially when I know I can tune-in half of them, even though I haven't grappled in half a year. I tend to pity the small guys doing isolation exercises, usually with bad form, and am supportive of most of the fat guys, since I was a very chunky kid. Anyway, my story is I'm in the gym @7am, doing biceps/triceps. At this point (last week), I was on a keto diet for my last (8th) week, looking flat and very cranky. So, I decide to blast my biceps superset-style. I start blasting out incline curls - PERFECT form. Low reps and heavy weight, then with no rest, I grab a light barbell and crank out some more reps. In the middle of my fuckin' set, as I'm focusing on my muscle, trying to get a pump (ever tryed to get a pump on 10g carbs per day?), this 80 year old withered-ass motherfucker interrupts me, telling me and I quote: "that weight's too heavy for you". At this point, were I not so focused on the curls, I would have taken his head off! Instead, I exercise self-control and calmly ask: "Oh really? How can you tell?"
The old-ass fucker sais: "easy. I've been doing this all my life!"
I drop the 'bells, grab my barbell, finish my superset, and get the fuck out of there before I did something that would've got me a permanent gym membership in jail! All this in the middle of my fucking incline curl set - took away half my intensity, killed my focus!

vlaovic, I feel for you man, I hate those fat asses that think they're strong. They don't realize how much we could hurt them if we wanted to.

Well, my Gym is about 50% skinny dorks, 40% fatasses, and only 10% look like they workout at least.

This is the funniest thing I've ever seen!!
Ok, I'm just doing my workouts and stuff, as is everyone else. So this HUGE guy comes in!
I tell ya, never in my life have I seen such a thing before. This guy's waist was 28" and his arms were a good 19", but this guy was so cut! it was unbelievable!! this guy grabbed a 140lbs Dumbbell and started doing tricep extensions for reps!

Ok, at the same time, there was a guy with a personal trainer working his chest on a Pec Dec machine. He wasn't a big guy, 14" arms maybe. I was too far away to hear what the trainer was telling this guy, but out of the blue he starts screaming out every rep! it was so loud!! the guy's going WHOAAAGGHHH!!!! WHOAGGGGHHHH!!!WHOAGGGGHHHH!!! WHOAGGGGHHHH!!! and then the huge guy drops the weight to the floor, and screams out "FOR FUCKS' SIX SHUT UP!!!!" I tell ya, you could hear a fly for a few secs. Then the small dude stands up and goes "WHO SAID THAT! WHO SAID THAT??". The big guy goes "I DID!!! SOME OF US ARE WORKING OUT HERE, DUMBASS!!!!"
At the time I didn't think it was funny, no one did. The personal trainer didn't say a word, the small guy turned pale! and everyone else in the gym started whispering and gossiping and stuff. I think we all thought the guy was gonna get the shit beat out of him. But that's were it ended, and I just went back to my workout. Talk about 'roid rage eh??

- Funny thing is I saw the big guy a couple of months later, he was wearing a sweater, and his character looked a lot happier! I guess he was off the juice... Haven't seen that small dude in a while now...

Personally, I think dedication, improvement, and the right attitude/discipline matter just as much as size. You can be the biggest guy in the gym, but if you're a fuckin' asshole that goes around screaming and pushing people around, what's the point? You aren't bettering yourself, and noone will think more of you, especially members of the opposite sex.

i go to my gym to practice my mike skillz and show off my wide assortment of wife-beaters (all white)...sometimes inbetween rap sessions ill decide to lift weights in my adidas flip flops...my technique is to lift HEAVY with very poor form..i mean i just jerk the hell out of the weights...im a madman, im on fire...my only problem, i dont know what to scream out in between, what do you call them, oh yeah, reps...i was thinking about "FREEDOM!" or maybe "GET OFF MY PLANE!"...which would make me look cooler?
