It's a fraternity which has been around for an undetermined amount of years, 80% of your U.S. presidents are/were members, the eye in the pyramid is a symbol of the fraternity. The Shriner organization has ties to it. I just thought that with this many guys on the board someone would know about it or be a part of it, that's all. No need to insult.

It's not a cult, you're free to come and go as you choose, the reason that nobody really knows about it is that they do not recruit, and they do not advertise. They do a lot of philanthropy.
There are a lot of conspiracy theories regarding them and that brings about spoofs like on the Simpsons.
There are tons of websites about them if anyone is bored and wants to know more.

I know a bit about the Freemasons. It's actually closer to 95% of our presidents (mainly republican/blue bloods) were freemasons, or so I have read. The last US president that was a Freemason was George W. Bush, he was a 33rd degree mason, (high ranking) and ex director of the CIA, which brings all kinds of conspiracy theories, but that's another topic.
The pyramid-eye symbol on the back of a 1$ bill is actually the logo of the Illuminati, a much more secret society that has existed at least since the beginning of this country.
It's said that the originator of the Illuminati in this country, Adam Weishaupt (sp?) may have been the actual first 'president' before George Washington.
It's been awhile since I've read up on this so I've forgotten a bit of it, but if anyone's interested I can find my old books and articles and post a more detailed explanation of Freemasons and/or the Illuminati.
