Well, with my heart I gotta say Florida State. Nebraska will find a way to choke. They seem to have gotten good at that without Tom Osborne around. A lot of people are predicting a resurgence at Miami. Miami from 1985 - 1991 was the best team college football has seen in a long time - any year. Those fuckin Hurricanes kept denying FSU the national title. I'm stickingiwth FSU --- and Va Tech's Michael Vick to win the Heisman. Matt IP: Logged |

I would have to say that Nebraska has to be the favorite. I dont think FSU will win it again, but they will be in the hunt. It is very difficult to put together back to back undefeated seasons. How many times has that happened? not many. IP: Logged |

I would pick Alabama, but the SEC is so fucking unpredictable year to year. I mean look at Arkansas. So yes its probally going to be the cornhuskers, only because K-state chokes in big games. Exspect Texas to be ranked #1 nxt year. IP: Logged |

Ok, well, I have to pick the Volunteers. I'm a BIG TIME college football fan. Also, I work for the university! We've done additional work to the stadium again this year. Not only have we added more skyboxes - we've added new paint to the jumbotron w/ a gigantic orange T! Fuck FSU, Nebraska, Michigan, etc....none of these teams could win a national championship if they were in the SEC cuz they would all lose at least 1...prolly 2 or 3...games a year. The SEC typically has 2 of the top 5 teams in the country in it...with about 4 others in the top 25. It's very, very difficult to go undefeated and win a national championship in this conference. As much as I hate Tennessee, I have to give them props on doing it in 98. However, my boyz, the Arkansas Razorbacks, had their ass tapped until our fuckhead of a qb (Stoerner...Dallas Cowboys: What are you thinking signing him???) fumbled when we had the game locked. But we made up for it last year...or they prolly would have repeated. Anyway, after going 9-3 last year (and KILLING Texas in the Cotton Bowl), the Hogs are picked to finish last in the western division...that shows you how strong the SEC is. Look for Alabama and Georgia to lead the conference this year...not Florida and Tennessee. One more thing: Cedric Cobbs...remember that name...maybe not this year, but next year...I guaran-fucking-tee that he will be at the Downtown Athletic Club in NY come December. Even though I'm a Texas born and raised boy, my mom and a couple of aunts were longhorns, my dad played ball at Lousianna tech post Bradshaw days I grew up on Arkansas Football...If anyone in the last 4 years has been underated it's Arkansas...They play the Best Teams in the country PERIOD!! To make it in the SEC you must...it's that Complicated...Anyone who thinks University of Texas will Contend for a National Title IN the next 5 years is thinking OVERBOARD...Even the Great Darrell Royal said that it was over Ambitious to think Texas with all their Good Recruits the last two years will be able to contend.... I have 8 good friends that are playing or are going to play their this year...3 will start this year alone, and I know for a fact after watching the A&M/TU game this past year that UT will not contend... I would look for someone like Nebraska or a sleeper like Miami to come back and win it...SEC will be lucky to win a title cause of the tough teams there....THe SEC should win every year...BARNONE.... Cut2Damax, I wish Nebraska was in the SEC. They walked all over Florida and Tennessee in national championship games and beat up on Tennessee again in the bowl game last year. Cut2Damax, I have to agree with you. Like it or not, The Big Ten is the same way. The conference games are not just physical, but brutal. And yes, contrary to some outdated opinions, The Big Ten does have the speed to match any conference in America.
