Who is the best football player you have seen? Although he is almost washed up, I have to say Jerry Rice is the best I have seen. No other player has been that much better than every other player at their position. You can't even begin to make an arguement for any other recievers. It will be interesting to see how Randy Moss does in the future. IP: Logged |

I think it's a joke how even though Walter payton has rushed for more Yards then anyone in NFL that people assume he was the best.... All I have to look at to make any sort of choices are Jim Brown, and Earl Campbell Reason 1 Neither one of them had full backs blocking for them, well Jim brown did at times, but Earl Campbell never did, probably the reason he only played 8 seasons. And both men did far more without blockers then Payton ever could have done Reason 2 This same question was asked months ago, and I am still convinced Earl Campbell is the best I ever saw play.....The man never Had a fullback blocking for him, it was always him hitting the line and going with it....The Oilers had a Half ass offensive line when he was around, and 2 even worse quarterbacks so they knew he would rush at least 30 times a game...How many NFL players can say they did that, and He finished after 8 seasons in the top 8 all time leading rushers....I wonder what he would have done with someone blocking for him and a few less rushes a game??? I wish I could have seen Jack Lambert play he might have been the Best player ever, him or Butkus were probably the toughest... IP: Logged |

Romeo I respect your humble opinion but I dont think Gayle , Berry and Jim had the total package that Payton had, he was an animal, when those bastards would attempt to tackle or stop him , he was the one delivering the blows, that was a tough SOB. He was a ninja in shoulder pads. IP: Logged |

Payton was great player, in fact, when you think of a football player, Walter Payton is the first one to come to mind. You can, however, make a case for Barry Sanders and Jim Brown being as good as Walter Payton. At quarterback, I have to say Montana is the best, but you can make a case for Unitas or even Marino. At reciever, the conversation starts and ends with Rice. IP: Logged |

Pound for pound, the most versatile talented player would have to be Rod Woodson before his injury. He could play nearly any position. And very profeciently I may ad. IP: Logged |

before i get to the top ten list, let me say this... jim brown played during a time when the runner was not ruled down until he had no more momentum... he could fall and roll forward a few yards... FACT top ten list 10 jerome brown... he was great 9 dan marino 8 joe montana- may not put up dans numbers but he won the games 7 ronnie lott, he killed mother fuckers 6 dallas cowboys OLINE in their glory days of the early to mid 90's... i hate them, but they owned the field. 5 mike singletery 4 jerry rice-ya, hes a bitch now 3 LT- crack did this guy good. 2 reggie white-sold out my eagles, but he dominated 1 barry sanders- he did all this with the lions!!! who had no line, no qb, NOTHING!!!! let's start with linebacker LT reivented that position the only defensive player that could completely dominate a game. Defensive back arguably Ronnie Lott, but yoy could also make an argument for Rod Woodson.Defensive end Deacon Jones. Defensive line Reggie White. Offensive line Max Montoya. Tight end Kevin Winslow or Ben Coates. Wide receiver Jerry Rice. Quarterback Joe montana. Running Back Jim Brown. If i had to pick one out of all of these as the greatest it probably would have to be Jim Brown with LT a close second IP: Logged |

I can't believe some of what I'm reading all this barry sanders symp....Oh cause it was the lions....Jim brown didn't have near the line Sanders did, and Earl Campbell well He played for the FREAKING Oilers...They didn't call them the Houston Earlers for nothing...Thats all I have to say about that. Yeah I can't believe I forgot about LT, too bad the drugs got to him.....Earl still has probably the top 2 hits of all time #1 being that knockout hit he had on the Rams guy where the guy looked like he crumpled into dust...LOL...wow even though the titans are in tennesse I'm glad Eddie George is Kicking ass like The Old Campbell would have...I think if Campbell would have beatin those Steelers and gone to a Superbowl His name would be Synomious with Football... #2 where he took most of the Steelers line with him for 10yds then knocked the shit out of one of the linebackers before he was dragged down...I don't think even Payton could stretch a carry like he could. Marino and Campbell are probably the best 2 players that never won a superbowl...anyone else think of someone that fits in there with them??? IP: Logged |

Earl Campbell was the most dominant player of all time. Anyone that watched him play would understand. An entire defense would look for him and he usually carried the ball for 2 or 3 downs out of four. I saw them rip his shirt off, shoulder pads all fucked up, just drag people. IP: Logged |

I know I'm pro Bears, but Marcus Robinson is shaping up to be a legend. This guy had 13 yards less than Moss, 4 more receptions than Moss, 1 yard less YAC, and 2 td's less than Moss last year. He is definately one of the top 5 recievers in the league no matter how you slice it. He's 6-3 215lbs. He has 3 years NFL experience just like Moss except he only played preseason in 1997 and only 3 games in 1998 but he went to Europe that spring and won the World Bowl and was MVP of the league. This guy is good and I see big things for him in the future. NAME YDS REC. YDS/REC. LONG TD IP: Logged |

For all you guys talking about great o-linemen, you all have named decent ones but the greatest o-lineman handsdown has got to be Anthony Munuoz of the Bengals. That guy was a beast, he bitched everybody. I dont know why but I have to express my views for my least favorite ball player...I hate that fatass Gilbert Brown (packers), no skills, just a tub of lard with anchors on his feet. He got his ass handed to him by that smaller center from the broncos in the superbowl of 1998. IP: Logged |

Barry Sanders? The question is best football player, not the flashiest running back, even tho he is a great player, you need to go with an all-around guy like Keyshawn Johnson (not saying he is, but along those lines) Key could be the best all-around player in the leauge right now, but not the best reciever Rod Woodson fit the category too ------------------ IP: Logged |
