I was just wondering what everyone's favorite music to zone out to while lifting. I like Slipknot, Static X, and Pantera. I feel like a psycho after taking my thermadrene with Slipknot blasting in my headphones.

Metallica exclusively. "The Four Horsemen," "Phantom Lord," and "Dyer's Eve" get me going the best.

I don't actually listen to tunes while working out. Headphones blow and my gym plays a top 40 station (though they had classic rock on this weekend...woohoo!).

Hardcore is hardcore...just varies a little from person to person.

Metallica, Rob Zombie, Korn, Iron Maiden (more speed than aggression), Helloween (ditto), Led Zepplin is all over the place but they are what they are...awesome, Heavy Classics I & II (heavy, intense classic music...great stuff!)

Pantera when I was younger. Now its Limp and Metalica. About 5 min into "One" on the S and M cd I climb under bar and squat like it is the last set I will ever do. It gets me a few extra reps.

forget slipknot, theirs a shitload of other bands that smoke the shit out of em. slipknot is just more media friendly and well known cause they get airplay. theirs still many death metal bands that play 10 times harder and faster

I know that everyone has their own opinion, and is entitled to say what they like...but you people who like Metallica are wrong. Metallica sucks! They USED to be my favorite band, but his whole greedy anti-Napster thing has gotten to me. How many gold plated Benzes does one person need? I'll get flamed for this one for sure, but I like Eminem's newest album. Songs like "The way I am" and "kill you" get my blood boiling, and I really hate most rap and hip hop. Just my .05 cents (I was out of pennies)

i dont know if any old metal is harder than slipknot, but i was at tattoo the earth in cleveland, and their were more injuries and fights at slayer and hatebreed than at slipknot they did start a fire during slipknot though. if you like new heavy music check out hatebreed they're a pretty bad band(for anyone interested)
