Does anyone know of any good web-sites for researching Criminal Law Cases? I got a bullshit charge of Assualt on an Officer at a club over Spring Break. He was working security but was dressed in his "regular" uniform. Needless to say, there was a scuffle and he and several Bouncers were injuried and I had to spend 3 days in jail!! WTF. They have charged me with a felony!!! The charge carries a penalty of 2 - 20 yrs in prison. I thought they were just tring to scare me but they seem intent on tring this case. The prosecutor is a ball busting old hag and she has it out for me. Enough with the storey... I need some research material to find out what to do. I never punched the cop and I am innocent of that charge but I have no witnesses and they have a lot. They offered me 6 yrs of differed ajudication but I have to take piss test and do community serverice..so F*** that. Has anyone ever had an experience like this or can someone point me in the right direction for researching this. I have a lawyer but he is a slimeball and I dont trust him... PLEASE HELP.. ANYONE!! DAMM,A-BOMB THAT SAME SHIT HAPPENED TO ME HERE IN NORFOLK. A FEW YEARS BACK.THIS OFF DUTY COP WAS OUT AT A CLUB I WAS AT,HE WAS IN ONE OF MY BUDDIES FACE WHEN I WALKED UP,NOBODY KNEW HE WAS A COP.NEXT THING YOU KNOW HE WAS POINTING HIS FINGER ALL IN MY FACE.SO FINALLY I DROPPED HIM.NEXT THING YOU KNOW HE PULLS HIS SHIRT UP & I SEE A GUN IN HIS WAIST,SO I GOT SCARED SHITLESS THINKING HE WAS ANOTHER DRUNK WITH A GUN.I RAN AROUND THE CORNER & NEXT THING I KNOW IM TACKLED BY 2 OTHER COPS WHO KNEW HIM. I DONT KNOW WHY I DIDN'T GET CHARGED WITH A FELONY,I GUESS I GOT LUCKY WITH THAT.BUT I WAS STILL LOOKING AT ALOT OF JAILTIME.THE FIRST TIME I WENT BEFORE THE JUDGE SHE GAVE ME 6 MONTHS STRAIGHT TIME.I HAD TO APPEAL THAT SO I WOULDN'T LOSE MY JOB.THE SECOND TIME I BROUGHT SOME FRIENDS WITH ME AS WITNESSES & I GOT A PLEA BARGAIN OF 15 DAYS IN JAIL.THATS WHY IM TELLING YOU TO FIND SOMEBODY TO TAKE YOUR SIDE IN THIS MATTER,EVEN IF THEY LIE WHO GIVES A FUCK.TWO OF MY BOYS THAT CAME TO COURT WITH ME WEREN'T EVEN THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED. ------------------ Bros before Hos IP: Logged |

Do you have a copy of the police report? Or the affidavit charging you with the crime. In order to give you advice you have to be more specific. If you have no witnesses and "they have several" you are going to have to plea. Or take your chances with a jury. If you present yourself well a jury might believe you over the bouncers and officer. If the officer was not injured you have a chance for a good plea. If he got hurt you better take the best you can get. Were you an active particpant in the fight? Give a full account and maybe I or someone else can give you a little help. IP: Logged |
