How cool is that? I can't wait to hear that guy's commentary...I don't care if he doesn't know shit about football he's still a funny bastard. I heard some segments from his audition tape and he was a riot. All the more reason to watch Monday Night Football this year. IP: Logged |

Dennis Miller is probably a lot funnier when other people write his material. IP: Logged |

I personally thought it was better a couple years back when they had Frank, Al, and Dan. Bad enough I have to see him on 10-10-3453453525 commercials, now I gotta see him on MNF. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I'm interested to see how Miller will do on MNF but 9 out of 10 times I watch wrestling over MNF and I doubt that will change. It's about the game not the annoucers and more often than not the game sucks. It's probably because they schedule them before the season starts, oh well. ohkay, THIS IS WHY DENNIS WILL NOT BE THERE TWO SEASONS. His humor has grown way too drawn out and multi-dimensional, that initself will not apeal to the average Goe six pack. He uses too many metaphores and allegories within his political rants, that will be either mis-placed or mis-understood. IP: Logged |

Yeah F/N you're right bout the matchup part. They schedule games between teams that were good the year before. Last year noone wanted to see the Broncos play the Falcons. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I agree davidg, I't hard enough to get his jokes when you are concentrating on listening, forget about understanding them while trying to watch the game. IP: Logged |

I don't think MNF has much to lose by injecting some humor into their brodcasts. What i like about the dennis miller experiment is he will be announcing it from a fans perspective and that iam looking forward to. Besides im a football fanatic i could care less whos announcing it as long as i get to see the modern day gladiators knocking heads. In my opinion its the best game that exists. IP: Logged |

Thank you roobie, The guys ok at best. But can you see it now we are sitting there thinking wow nice play, and he starts talking about Sadam Hussien and George W smoking angle dust or some crap like that. Sorry perfect trainer, actually I think pro-football is kinda going down the tubes. Thats why they are going to this measure. Miller is far from an average fan. Actually, Miller is an average fan. Or above average, the dude knows A LOT about football. He literally blew the ABC producers and Michaels away in his audition and nailed the job halfway through it. Plus he is freakin' hilarious and doesn't talk down to his audience. I can't wait to see how he does. My guess is he's going to kick ass. And by the way, with the parity in the league and uncertainty with who will step up each year, how long do you think it will be before MNF is scheduled like ABC college football? If everything goes haywire again this year, they may start doing it soon. ABC paid tons of money for what was often the "game of the week." ------------------ IP: Logged |
