I saw a fairly big guy, bigger than me anyway, wearing one of those baggie shirts with the neck cut out so you could see the little strap of his tank-top he had on underneath. He finished up the look with some spandex shorts. I know a lot of bodybuilders wear stuff like this but it looks sooo gay to me. I feel the only missing was a headband and some leg warmers. hey f/n, I dont dig alot of the stuff out there they have bor BB's. Especially the fanny pack shit. THAT is #1 of gay shit in my book. (no offense to gays, just an expression) Next is those freak'n zebra stripped baggy gay as pants and any other pant of the same look, wtf is wrong with shorts, and not spandex shorts either. If your gonna wear them hopefully there bike shorts so your ass dont hurt. Next is the so called BB shirts. I dont know about you but my shirts look and smell like shit after I work out. I dont need to spend money on what someone else says is bb workout attire. my white shirts turn yellow and my black shirts have salt stains on them. I think some people try to look like a bb so they just follow along like freakn sheep. give me a nice pair of comfy shorts and a comfy shirt I can move around in and Im good to go. I agree with you man.....the whole 80's thing with the active wear, it was great back then, but to see guy's wearing it now is hilarious! It would be like wearing a paisley print shirt to work, or a leisure suit. Or for the ladies, wearing the whole Jennifer Beals/Flashdance outfit....hehe...!!!!! While we are on the topic of seeing weird stuff at the gym ...I need some help. Please, somebody educate me ...it has come to my attention that an uncomfortably alarming amount of young men (age range 19 - 25) have the most perfectly groomed eyebrows I have ever seen! I mean, there is NO WAY God could have given such a large number of men PERFECTLY SHAPED eyebrows. He didn't even give that to the ladies! These guys appear to be straight - nothing against gays - I was just always under the impression that only certain gay men messed with their brows. And I'm not talking alleviating the "unibrow" thing. I'm all for a guy breaking out the Bic and separating those bad boys, but JEEZE! Has this become a fashionable practise for straight men, too? Hey Bikinimom, I know what you are talking about with the plucked eyebrows... I have a friend that cuts hair and these guys usually get their eyes done when getting their hair cuts. If you don't shave, it's one thing, but to call someone GAY (something that only an idiot would consider to be an insult, anyway) is uncalled for. I'm straight, and I shave, pretty much everywhere. I have nothing against builders who are naturally very hairy and don't shave. It's their choice; but come competition time, even these hairy fellows (and gals ) remove their bodyhair. No one in their right mind competes "intact" if you will.Whether you're a hairy monster like Ron Jeremy or have less bodyhair than a baby's behind, life ultimately goes on. I was just surprised that some (well, sour jerk) still consider the practice of hair removal as somehow linked to homosexual males (yeah, no shit, this guy is a real fucking genius. Gentlemen! - Calm down, What is up with all the hostility? ...I wasn't trying to stir stuff up - perhaps I did though with my poor choice of descriptive vocabulary. For the record. I do not like the way waxed eyebrow look because it just seems unnatural for a man to put that much effort into such a miniscule detail - this isn't overall body hair removal (which incidentally my hubby does - it is so funny to watch nonBB's ask about this - they are almost afraid to ask, "Do you shave your legs?" and my little girls volunteer this on a regular basis, "My daddy shaves his legs!" - they haven't realized he shaves all over yet - anyway the look on some people's faces is priceless!!). I know, I know - proper punctuation ...Whatever!! What I was saying is it just seems that to put that much effort into such a small detail ...well it just seems strange. I know guys, cut and color their hair, but brow waxing? It does LOOK odd and I think the PRACTISE is ODD. Again (my opinion), I think guys look great without such alteration (with the exception of unibrow and there is no need to reshape the entire thing to alleviate this problem). I apologize if my improper use of the word "gay" offended anyone, but I really thought that only certain gay men did this. And even if you are gay (not that my opinion matters) I don't think that shaping your brows alters your appearance in a positive way, that's all. And as for attire - if you like it, you wear it. Bodybuilders shave, perioid. If you don't get that then you don't know shit about bodybuilding and maybe should be hanging out on a board about quilting. Next subject, I'm not up to date on what the trendy 'fag' (your word komododragon, not mine) community wears to the gym. And no, I won't be visiting any trendy gay gyms to a do a survey, while I'm sure there quite a few here in Atlanta. I still stand by what I said. Why should anyone care what I think? RE: shaving - I just can't imagine seeing competitors onstage w/o having shaven prior to stepping on the stage. That's sort of gross to think that they would not.....this is a bad thing. As bodybuilders, trainers, fitness competitors, etc., I think we try to live a near perfect lifestyle (we think) when it comes to training in the gym. We want to work out as best as we can and yes, we want to look good for all the hard work we put into it. Shaving, yes, this is a good thing! Damn, hehehe this one has been go'n on all night. Hey B-mon, cleaning up ones eyebrow has become just another thing for a guy to do. I know ALOT of guys (not gays) that do it - (flame away if you will f_-krs) including myself. They actually will do it when you go get a hair cut and stuff now. Myself and those I know that do it dont go overboard though. I just have those strays cleand up, not shaped or any crap like that. If its ok to shave our legs & nuts, wax our chests and arms, then I dont see what the big deal is about cleaning up a few stray hairs on our brows. hey guys, about the bodyhair...I am Italian, so you can imagine how hairy I can get. The easiest way to handle it is using one of those hair trimmers, like for shaving you head...which I also do. It is so damn easy... I use it for my legs and arms, but only have to do it about once or twice a month. I dont mind having some hair on my body, but I just keep it groomed. Since I dont really want to actually shave with a razor. Only my chest, which I use an electric razor on every morning after showering....this only takes a few minutes. It is all good...to each his own!!!!! Most of you guys are right....anyone who takes bodybuilding somewhat serious, and knows what they are doing...why waste the time if you have a full coat of ugly body hair covering the shit up. Hey Brotha Gillybag - now I am intrigued. Seriously, now this a part of a haircut? Do you go to a barber or a salon, and do they charge extra? I know that guys who keep their hair short have to get their hair buzzed every 3 - 5 weeks (my hubby keeps his short like I like it - he prefers it short also) but I'm amazed that this has become fashionable. On a woman's face such a minute detail makes a HUGE difference, but on a man's face - I can't see that this is an improvement. Perhaps I'm just a dinosaur resisting change - I don't know. But it just seems that the more you guys start messing with this stuff, the more you're going to start to feel this attention to such detail will become a necessity. I don't know exactly where I am headed with this it just seems strange. But then again, my parents are off-the-boat europians and they could not understand why I began to shave my underarms and legs - God, if my mother knew I waxed I think she would die of a heartattack! I don't think she realizes that my husband shaves his body hair because if she did I think she would blow a gasket or something. Well, I go to a salon I guees, but alot of guys go there. I dont get charged, it was offered once, I knew several people did it, so I said ok. I'm 50% Italian 50% Irish and the Italian genes are the dominant ones, so that means I'm pretty hairy. In the same boat with Goldberg on this one. I don't shave my leg hair off, just trim it down and keep it groomed. As for that waxing of the eye brow thing. Women pay more at the dry-cleanersm, we pay more for haircuts (When is the last time any of you brothas got charged more because you hair was longer? What difference does the length of your hair make when you are just going to get it cut? - not colored or permed which is more labor intensive and requires the use of more product - I understand the xtra charge here.), clothing, WTF? Hey BMom, no, Im in Tx, I just flirt w/the gals and they take care of me. Actually, the alpha female in my life noticed the other day I had some straglers, (Im not a hairy guy, its just once you start do'n it, its hard to stop when you see those way off hairs) and she plucked them for me.
