This is two part dietary question. First, how many of you effectivly cut out all forms of red meat in a 12 week diet? If you use read meat like I do, is it limited to one serving per day? Second, I notice that dairy consumption has an effect on my skin. It looks thicker, less vascularity shows. Dispight the temporary loss of some vascularity I still may have a cup of milk "skim" with my morning MPR. What are your opinions?,

Twisted: Actually, Red Meat is one of the main food (protein) sources I rely on during pre-comp. Especially when I am 4 weeks out and start carb depleting. I usually eat a steak for my second and my last meal of the night before bed. It really doesn't matter on the fat content because you will need that extra fat in your body since you are depleting all your carbs. It works out pretty good for me. I load my freezer up with steaks (the small ones)when I am 4 weeks out.

Oh yeah........you can drink NON-FAT milk during pre-comp, but once you are about 4 weeks out, I recommend depleting all dairy products, including yogurt. Also use Pam when cooking eggwhites in replacement of butter (but you probably already knew that). Peace.

Although I love steak it gets caught inbetween two of my back teeth (root canal that was never properly done) - so unless I'm really in the mood, I opt instead for eggs and chicken and fish - I LOVE SALMON. As for the dairy I cut that @5 weeks out, but I have to supplement calcium and eat a lotta broccoli (can't stand spinach unless it is fresh) ohterwise I cramp up REAL BAD.

I've never had to delete steak, it's just a "tooth" thing - but when I crave it - give it to me practically saying, "MOOOOOOOO!"

Yes, I cut the red meat at 6 weeks out....I'm not much of a meat eater anyway. Also, I go for the Skim Milk w/ my protein shake of the AM.

I never cut out lean steak. I usually eat it 4-5 times per week. I go with 6-8 oz of either Eye round or top round. It is probably wise to reduce your dairy consumption since it can cause bloating in some people. And having sex with midgets is just morally wrong, plain and simple.

I eat red meat all the way up. Usually a steak and baked potato night before prejudging. I cut out all dairy products about 6 weeks out. It tends to keep my skin thicker.

Yeah bro, red meat is cool. Like flex was saying it is a good source of protein and when you are depleting your carbs you can definitely use the fatty acids for energy. It also has natural creatine in it. Skim milk is cool to get your carbs but I would stay away from it after 2. You want to get your carbs in the morning then taper them off by around lunch time or 3rd or 4th meal of the day.
One dude I know went a totally different route then me and got his carbs from fruit (simple carbs(sugar)) and skim milk. I get my the majority of my carbs from Oatmeal (cleanest carb, zero sodium and sugar) and smidgen from peanut butter.
He's Mr. Iowa, and I have 3 weeks to compete, so we'll see.

maybe he meant read the red meat, and it will tell you if its good enough to eat, but if hes reading red meat, i think hes on pcp.

Quick thought plus careless typing skills will yield some embarassing moments. I sight the careless oversight pertaining to my spelling as a prime example. I guess I had "read" on my subconcious.
