When I max I try to keep my butt on the bench but I'm sure it must come up maybe 1/2 inch for a few seconds, if that makes any difference. I always take the bar off myself so i guess that increases the static hold and may slighty reduce my overall max but since i lift my ass a little I just call it even: Age:35 weight:210 hight:6' bench:305x6 squat:405x6 deadlift 405x4. # of cycles:1, but many more ahead ![]() IP: Logged |

Deadlifting is a much better measure, either you can lift the thing or you can't. No way to 'cheat' it up. And I have NO idea what I bench. I've never attempted a 1 rep max. IP: Logged |

While I lift weights mainly to look good just as much as the next person, one thing I have noticed about everyone one who says that they don't care how much they can lift has in common: They're weak!
