I'm tired of it too. That's why I watch the UFC and other martial arts tournaments. Boxing is one of those sports that is racially biased in terms of selected picks for top rankings. This is the workings of many of the top promoters in the business...who I might add, feast and thrive on racial bias. I had a white friend who won a boatload of fights without a single defeat. He had a manager who even got him a featured bout, but there was so much politics in the system that ultimately he was never given a shot. What a true shame that the absolute best sometimes don't get the chance to make it. But I guess it's like that no matter where you go. IP: Logged |

That fight did suck. I spent more time getting food and shit to sit back, relax, and enjoy the fight than the fight actually lasted. 2 things I hate bout boxing. 1)The fact that there are judges. They should just duke it out until one guy doesn't get up. 2)Refs calling the fight. They don't know if the guy can go on or not. I live out west and am watching it right now. The fight before the main event just finished and that white dude looked pretty tough. Pretty damn impressive build to him also. Cleaner: 1st, I didn't post to offend you (In fact a white guy watching the fight with me said the same damn thing last night). Lastly, I don't mind seeing a white guy who can handle himself in the ring fight for the title but these guys that have been marched out in the last few years couldn't. Are you saying they could? Oh but I'm sure one's comming right? and yeah a lot brothas in the ring suck too. I don't wannna see them figting either. Whole Show, regardless on how you defend yourself, even in your above defense, you made some hypocritical responses, you should not of incorporated race into your topic, it could of read something along the lines of "No more weak ass bitches fighting for the Heavyweight Championship", regardless of your response, there isnt one that exists that makes this particular post OK, it was wrong plain and simple. havoc: I'm not defending myself. slabcat nailed it on the head with his last response (some humor was there) but if you wanna get real it I can get real with it. As far as those guys cracking me in the skull, what's your point? I'd hope they would be able crack me in the skull. Afterall they're 'contenders' for the heavyweight championship of the world or at least professional fighters. I am not. Also I could always grab my Berretta and stop any boxer dead in his tracks but that's not the point either but I'm just speaking the truth. Also not just with white heavyweights, with EVERYONE, there are a lot of good fights not being made because of bullshit politics. I speaking of this because of a conversation I had with a contender who's trying to get a shot with Roy Jones. And I do think white heavyweights do get a slight edge when rankings come in. I didn't invent the great white hope concept but it exists. I don't feel I was being hypocritical. But who knows maybe I was. Oh well. I won't lose any sleep over it. I call 'em like I see em. And maybe that's not potically correct. But I least I gave my reasons. Like I said, I'm not defending myself because I don't really feel the need to do so. And I'm not sorry for posting, cause if I was I'd delete it and on principal I won't do that. The thing that concerns me with fighters who look like bad asses on the undercard sometimes get eaten up when they step up with the big boys. I thought James Thunders was gonna be something. He used to kick ass on Tuesday Night Fights (I miss that show) but got his clock cleaned when he went to HBO. If only real fights were like "Rocky" fights. It'd be better than wrestling! Well Show your such a big fan why didn't you jump up to my statement. How many "this is for you" Black guys have gone down early in title fights - lets say in the last 5 years. ALOT. a WHOLE DAM LOT. So that just means that they meet a better fighter. Truth be know there is not alot of white guys in the fight game anymore. Why its a shitty way to make a living! Very few ever get to the big bucks. Sure lots of black heavyweights go down. And I was talking title bouts here and maybe #1 contender bouts too. Yes Lewis did recently knock out Michael Grant (a Black fighter) in the 2nd round but Lewis (my example for this) fought 3 white guys in the last 3 years. Only 1 made it past the 2nd round, Zeljko Mavrovic. He went the distance in fact. Golatta got knocked out in the 1st round and we all know what happened last night with Botha. Lewis also had 6 fights with black fighters in that time and Grant was the only one to not make it to at least the 5th round. There's a bit of difference in the ratios there don't ya think? I'm not backing down nor do I feel I didn't 'walk my talk', but for all the Zeljko Mavrovic's of the world, I'll retract my statement (of which was a little tounge and cheek any damn way). Let another white boxer go for the heavyweight title, but puhleeze let's make sure the muthafucka can go or at least take a big punch. 66.6% of the ones Lewis fought in the last 3 years couldn't. BigPappa- There's no proof that whites are intellectually superior to blacks. There's plenty of black scientists, doctors, judges, teachers, etc. Just because a race isn't the most wealthy race in a certain country, doesn't mean they're intellectually inferior. There's few whites in Japan, does that mean they're inferior to the Japanese? I guess so. It's only been 30 years since blacks have gotten any kind of opportunities in this country, and now all of the sudden whites expect all of us to be driving mercedes and living in springfield. In the white mans defense we still have powerlifting and full contact no holds barred figting in our list of things we do best. If anyone thinks otherwise i can back it up with fact. So wiggs, because you are black you are at a disadvantage from achieving your goals?? you just think that you can't because you are too lazy to work for it, anyone can do anything they want if they go to school and get qualified for whatever it is they want to do. Quit bitching about the past, have you heard of the Civil Rights act of 1964 or all the equal opportunity laws, or Affirmative action. Shit, Affirmitive action is reverse dicrimination, I won't get into that, And where does scott talk about Rappers and telivision you dumbass, how bout you re-read the post before you talk shit. I'm curious who is holding you down from achieving your goals, if this is the case, why are there so many prominent black lawyers and doctors, ect, Why are there tons of black students attending college's it seems nobody is holding them down. Bottom line is that it doesn't matter what color you are in America if you want to achieve goals, maybe you should live in Russia, or Cuba, or some other communist country, I'm sure you would appreaciate the opportunites of America once you are stuck there. Some black people feel that they are discrimintated against all the time. Do you assume you have to work harder, and do more work than your white co-workers?
