Rexie317 Pro Bodybuilder (Total posts: 312)	posted July 15, 2000 03:55 AM I got to work and get yelled at by 2 of my 4 managers about looking at the schedule cause they say I don't go in when I'm scheduled. I swear they put my name on there so someone else can have off that day. So after getting yelled at I go to my area and start doing my job. I get yelled at by my manager again cause he said the fries sucked. I go outside on my break and my cousin was out there. She and her brother in law said the fries were great and asked who made them. I said I did. So whos wrong my boss or them? Then they scheduled me to work tomorow nite until the fuckin weee hours of the mornin again. Nuh-uh ain't happening. The attractive waitress I work with that gives me the time of day to notice me wasn't working tonite. FUCK. I was gonna work up the balls to ask her out or something tonite too. And on top of that, one of the waiters I'm cool with called out. Dude is cool as shit and we got alot in common so it helps the night go by faster, but nope the night moved slower than a friggin one-legged turtle. I've been exhausted mentally and physically from the schedule that my training is starting to suffer. Gotta get my ass some new hours. Years ago, I had exactly the same experiences in food service (nothing seems to have changed) and I said finally after 2 months FUCK IT and worked my ass off in school so that I would be able to leave that industry(?). I quit, worked hard at school and found a better job. Never looked back and now at 40, I feel like I got it all. House on the coast, house in the Sierra's, house on the golf course, beautiful wife and kids, no money worries. (can't be good) Says the dude I got covering for me can't b/c he isn't trained that good at doing what I am scheduled for. Yet they dicked me over and put me on the same job on the busiest night of the frickin week when I was a traniee. While the kid got some good training on a less busy night and could probably handle it(plus hes got a couple partners helping him out). Now I got 2 options. Option 1: Puss out, go in, get chewed out for trying to have someone cover for me that they say wasn't qualified and get bitched at for an entire night. Option 2: Stand my ground, not go in, if they call don't answer(thats being a puss too, but I get to rest), and get some rest. Chances are I'll get fired (if I don't quit first) if I hold my ground. The only problem with me quitting is my dad won't let me quit until I have another job. I want a new job cause I feel I'm being shafted big time in the shifts and pay dept. I get paid less money with taxes taken out while there are kids there under the table making more than me. Fair? I think not. I'm writing all this stuff on the board cause I ain't getting any support from any of my family what-so-ever on this. All I get is how I have to pay for car insurance (which I don't have a problem paying), how hard their jobs are, and how they can't just quit. I say but you chose your career and have an interest in what you do for a living, the pay is probably twice as much as I'm getting now. I have no fucking plans of being a restaurant worker for the rest of my life(No offense to those who do). Its so fucking monotonous, same processes over and fuckin over. But that doesn't seem to get threw their heads. This job I got now has nothing at all in common with what I want to do with my life. Sorry for the long post. Fuck them. Fuck the restaurant. Fuck the damn fries, etc. My fuckin health isn't worth the shitty pay I get. Nobody is fuckin given me any fuckin support on my stand.(Not go in and show them I'm not fuckin around when I say I'm gettin someone to cover for me) My dads on my case bout it. Keeps bitchin the same fuckin line. No job, no money, no insurance, no license and no car. My mom doesn't want me to work there (got one on my saide) b/c she doesn't like the fact that I walk in at 2:30 in the morning. Plus she somewhat sees my stand on everything. She says go apply at the supermarkets (which im gonna). Sorry fellas. My bitchin is probably annoyin the shit out of you as much as they are me. I'm gonna call when I wake up. Chances are they're calling to say "You're fired." But when he answers the phone I'm gonna say "Hey, this job aint workin out for me I gotta quit. I thought I could enjoy this type of work, but I was wrong." Food ain't my type of thing. I'm more of a business kind of guy, which sux for me seeing as how I'm 16 and everyone wants people that went to college. Nobody hires "apprentices" anymore. Hey Cm350: You said you were in a similar situation to the one I'm in. What job did you get after you quit? If anyone has any suggestions for a job (legal ones) please post them. I work at one and it is one of the top 3 REASONS for my life sux post.
