![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For all you techie's out there, i have a question: how do you locate the origions of an I.P. number? I've had someone trying to gain access from my computer all fuckin day and thankfully my firewall has blocked them. ![]() ![]() ![]() If you are running windows, open up a DOS window and type this: tracert ###.###.###.### the ### = the ip number. This will trace the ip number through a number of hops. As the hops get closer, it will probably give you a city. ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tracert just tells you the path it takes to get to the IP. To tell who owns the IP you have to do a reverse DNS lookup. This one does a reverse lookup on you. http://www.dnswiz.com/cgi-bin/rlookup.dll This one you can type "host <ip address> and come up with the owner. http://www.networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois Cisco kid in action..
