He beat the shit out of people when he was younger too. He didn't need a set to kick someones ass.

Bruce Lee was a badass. He would street fight, or fight in a ring. He didn't care. His shit was not for show (except for the high kicks he did for the movies -- he would never do that in a real fight).

People like Jean-Claude Van Damme are all show though. His shit looks great on screen, he's in good shape (well, a few years ago he was), but he gets his ass kicked when not on the set. Just last year he got his ass seriously beaten over at Scores in New York. Was anyone there for that?

I guess nobody has anything on Lee then. I like his movies as much as the next guy, I just wanna know who he beat in real life. Any tournament wins, etc. Seems to me he'd have something to his name besides 'movie star'.

Funny that my first registered post on this forum is used with this topic, but Bruce Lee did beat Bolo Yeung (Bloodsport, Van Damme's final opponent) I believe in the late seventies/early eighties... Bolo being a highly accomplished martial artist in real life...

The fights he had with Chuck Norris where in the 70's. I don't know when and where, I just remember reading the Karate training Mags when I was little.

As I said Chuck last fight was in the early 80's. Chuck was a new bad ass coming onto the karate seen just at bruce was finishing his fighting career and moving into show biz.

I was born in 71 and started Tae Kwon Do(spelling?)when I was 5 and me and my dad switched to Ki Han Ru(SP?) at around 7years and then around 8or9 we switched to Tia tech. I mastered none of then, but I can elbow, shin, and Knee the shit out of you.

Here in Dallas he was defending a Title, but I have no Idea what it was. It was a full contact kick boxing the gloves and top foot covers. It was at the then Loew Anatole hotel. At that time the nicest hotel in Dallas. He really kicked the shit out of the guy. I can remember for some reason the guy kept getting nailed with a spinning back fist and I could not understand how he could not get out of the way. I guess Chuck was real fast. i was very young when I saw the fight and can not remember much.

In 1953, Bruce was involved in many street fights in Hong Kong. Because of this, he becomes a student of Sifu Yip Man, a master of Wing Chun Kungfu.

In Oakland, 1964, after several months of teaching students, Bruce is challenged by a leading Gung Fu practinioner in the Chinatown Community. If Bruce were to lose the challenge, he was either to close his school or put an end to his teaching to non-Chinese. Bruce accepts this challenge and wins in only a couple of minutes. But Bruce was upset though on why the fight took longer than usual so he begins to re-evaluate his style. Thus, the early concepts of Jeet Kune Do (JKD) were born.

I mean for a guy who invented his own style of fighting, something no one person has done anytime in recent memory, the guy was the greatest. Peroid.

I have seen a good couple of biographies on Bruce Lee either on TLC or A&E. They said that on the set of each of his movies he fought fights almost daily. Everyone wanted to take down the guy who was the "best." Extras and guys in his movies would fight against him all the time off the set. When he first moved to America the Chinks were pissed that he was teaching white people so they sent their best martial artist to battle Bruce Lee. After a 3 and a half minute battle Bruce kicked his ass and won the right to teach who ever he wanted.

Peace I'm out!

kram, you're talking about Chuck Zito. He's a high ranking member of the Hells Angels and an actor. He kicked Claude's ass inside of Score's titty bar one night. Mickey Rourke was their with Van Damme and he's pals with Zito. Chuck Zito also worked as a bodyguard for Van Damme years ago. I guess Van Damme disrespected him and he laid him out with a few punches. Van Damme didn't do shit. Zito was talking about it on the Howard Stern show. Chuck Zito is also that big ass Italian dude in Oz on HBO.

Bruce Lee was the shit. Checkout his bio sometime. He never backed down from a fight and used to whoop people's ass when he was younger back in China. He beat the shit out of some badass Chinese fighter. The Chinese got pissed cause he was teaching Americans the ancient art. They got their best fighter and they fought and Bruce won it, which meant he could continue teaching. He would also fight anyone at exhibitions for Martial Arts. Still i'd like to see how he would have stacked up nowadays in NHB fighting.

Bruce Lee Kicks Ass in Real Life

These are a few of the fights that Bruce participated in the ring and out.

vs. Gary Elms in a tournament. (Won)
1958 or 1959:
Against Chung on a rooftop in Hong Kong. (Won in 2nd Round)
1960 - Seattle:
Bruce backfisted a guy and busted his nose after Bruce saw him harrassing a Chinese Girl. Bruce was taking a walk. This fight was witnessed by James DeMile.
1960 or 1961:
vs. Uechi. (Won in 10 seconds)
Summer 1963 - Hong Kong:
Bruce snapped a low kick to a punk's shin after the punk and his friend harrassed him during an evening stroll.

Bruce was the Best there is , Best there was, and the Best there going to be. Nuff said. Van Dickhead is a cunt. He was the Champ in Belgium kickboxing but street fighting is a whole different story. Bruce could kick your ass inside & outside the ring. THis is what made him so leathal. He is the one bad MOFO!!

If your an awesome street fighter like Lee was then you are one fuckin dangerous dude. Sure if you can do it in the ring, you're probably pretty damn good, but in a street fight there are no rules. Weapons allowed. At least in the ring you had a ref, rules, etc. Outside the ring, you had none of them.
