HAS ANYONE READ THE ARTICLE ON, "THE CALORIE SHOCK DIET" IN THE NEW ISSUE OF MUSCLE AND FITNESS?
IF SO WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON DOING SOMETHING LIKE THAT?

THEY ARE TRYING TO SAY THAT IT IS GOOD TO GO 12 DAY AT 3,944 CALORIES THAN SWITCH TO 12 DAYS OF ONLY 837 CALORIES, I AM CONFUSED HERE.

The only problem with it is if you accidentally get 3,945 calories one day, your fucked. J/k I think it is better to cycle your calories throughout the week instead. For example... 3 days at 2000 cal, one day at 5000, 3 days at 2000, one day at 5000.. and so on. These numbers are just hypothetical. This keeps your metabolism off balance.

Hey DL,

I have the issue but I havent read the article. But I do something like this (dont count the calories) about every 6 to 8 weeks. Im doing it now. Ill just eat what ever the hell I want for 1 week and then Itll take me about another full week of tapering down to eating healthy again. Ive put on 10 lbs in the 1st week and Ill drop a couple in the second. I also cut the cardio to 2 to 3 times a week opposed to 5 to 6 times a week. Ill also lift heavier for less reps (feel much stronger due to the calories, I guess). This seems to be the time when I pack on some muscle. I also avoid all supplaments at this time. Ill read the article but it kinda sounds like what I do anyway. So, I guess it cant really hurt, as long as you can get back to lowering the cals. My 2 cents.

837 calories a day? I eat that in a meal ... (not including dessert)

I GUESS I'M A LITTLE CONFUSED AS TO WHY PEOPLE ACTUALLY READ THOSE MAGAZINES ANYWAY. ALL THEY ARE GOOD FOR IS LOOKING AT THE PRETTY PICTURES.

The ABCDE diet is Bill Phillips little baby. He presents it as the natural alternative to 'roids. Seems a bit extreme to me. My body (and my mind) wouldn't respond well to such massive swings in diet. I'd rather feel good.

Its taking advantage of your body's response to overeating and starving. You elevate anabolic hormones when you starve, to put on muscle should the diet change. Then you shovel in the food and let all those elevated hormones do thier job. Like carb starving, it forces you bod to do what it can.
