I seem to have caught quite the cold in the middle of July and I was wondering if I am supposed to rest up or try to sweat it out...? ------------------ IP: Logged |

If I am not juicing I take a lot of vitamin C and some nytol PM's and go to sleep when I feel sick. If I am juicing, I go to the gym, because I feel like I am getting the flu sometime when I am juicing, but it never developes into anything. If you are sick I do not recommend working out. If it's mild and mostly in the sinuses, I've been able to work through it. Anything more and I would rest up. Plus, the people at your gym won't appreciate you spreading around your cold. Oh, and when you rest, keep eating even if you don't feel like it. IP: Logged |

Yes i would work out,at home of course.I find if you work threw your illness it makes your commitment that much stronger.Unless your legless and really sick, than i'd rest rather than ending up in the hospital. IP: Logged |

I started my workout today with an awful headache and a slightly pulled groin from working(organizing and playing games with kids all day in the sun)...I had to call it quits after a few sets (I finished all my cleans) but after a set of 295 squats I felt like dying andd left, I think I have a bad summer cold aswell ------------------ IP: Logged |

Theres a fine balance between working out to boost your immunity and working out that will break it all down. Anything that I've read says for mild colds stick to light training sessions to give your body a boost...anything else, rest your body. And I would definately consider training at home while you are sneezing, hacking, phleming whatever....thats just nasty IP: Logged |

I would rest if u are sick. I usually go when I'm sick, but if I start feeling really bad after a couple of exercises I will go home and rest. Just make sure to eat enough, get alot of fluids, and rest. Hope u feel better ------------------ IP: Logged |

IF i don't feel 100% i won't even set foot in the gym! I don't drink the only time i stay up late is when i have to work three days a week. I can't just go to the gym and go threw the motions the people i train with will except nothing more than 100% from me. So if i'm not feeling ok something must be off because i do lead a semi clean lifestyle. Answere to question always listen to your body it doesn't lie! ------------------ IP: Logged |

Rule of thumb: If you're sick from the neck up, workout OK. Sick anywhere else, workout not OK. (Even if you feel like it -- its possible to cause permanent lung damage) IP: Logged |

When I get real sick I usually cant eat anything,so I already feel weak as shit. Its better to take a couple of days off & be strong when you workout than to workout sick & be weak.Plus when your body is trying to recover the worst thing you can do is put all that stress on it. IP: Logged |

I feel like I have done something wrong when I miss the gym. I go workout, then miss work, but I always go workout. ------------------ "Obsession is passion. Use it. Make it your strength." -by Puc IP: Logged |

Man I went out yesterday drank wayyyyy too much and I'm feeling now. Today is leg day so I have to suck it up and go. I need a nap first. I usually stay away if the cold is bad. You're only going to take longer to recup. Take a week off it might do you a world of good. IP: Logged |
