Im about to meet someone for the first time and shes blind. I would have never guessed it talking to her on the phone and she just brought it up after i asked to go and meet her in person. Its pretty strange and i dont think i would have bothered if i didnt talk to her on the phone at length. i guess personality plays a bigger role than i thought, cuz id rather spend time with her than with some girls who can see! Anyone with experience with this give me advice on dating a blind person please! IP: Logged |

Just don't be afraid to talk about it. If she feels your genuinely interested it will really make her feel comfortable. I'm a caretaker for handicapped people,(only worked with a couple of blind people) and I've found that they are flattered when people have the nerve to ask them about their problem. And I wouldn't take her site seeing on the date.J/K Good Luck! ------------------ IP: Logged |

I've dated a girl who was almost completely deaf, so I can kinda relate. Just treat her well and you might learn a thing or 2. IP: Logged |

THATS REALLY A NICE STORY TO HEAR.IM SURE YOU MADE HER DAY IF SHE DIDNT MAKE YOURS.IM REALLY INTERESTED OPTOMETRICS AND WONDERING IF IN HER CASE SHE COULD SEE AT ONE TIME OR IF SHE WAS UNABLE TO SEE SINCE BIRTH.NEW DEVELOPMENTS OCCUR DAILY AND IN THE NEAR FUTURE I BELIEVE BLINDNESS WILL BE A THING OF THE PAST. ------------------ IP: Logged |

She is blind since birth. She's very independent, has own place, job, etc. She even has a treadmill in her room, definite plus! I guess it will be strange actually going out places with her, I guess I will have to actually pay attention! IP: Logged |

I think im going to see her again today, see if we can get out and go somewhere (any ideas?). I didnt really think about the long term issue, havent known her long, but i guess you have to consider that to make it fair. Kinda scary, but cross that bridge when i get to it IP: Logged |

Thats cool dude, such a small thing like that shouldnt stop u from liking her. Not that its small, but I think you know what I mean. Take her to a restaurant and to maybe a concert or something. IP: Logged |

just treat her like anyone else. Blind and deaf people have a much more acute sense of their environment than we do. They absorb it all much better than we do because they learn to focus on their other senses much better. You would be surprised at how "not handicapped" they really are. Good luck! IP: Logged |

The concert idea was a good one. On the same note you could take her to a club that plays jazz or has a live band. L8R ------------------ IP: Logged |

I went to a rave last Saturday.I was walking around, and I saw this girl sitting there by herself.I shit you not bros,my heart stopped beating,I had to meet her.I sat down beside her and introduced myself, she said hi my name is E****,and I'm blind.Anyways to make a long story short,we were inseperable for 7 hours, shes one of the most happiest people I've ever met in my life,I've fallen quite hard for her,and she has given me a different outlook on life. Her handicap doesn't bother me at all.We made an incredible connection that is rare to find these days. Superdave if you like this girl.....go for it bro. IP: Logged |
