O.K. bud, it's like this, we have all expressed a discontent for the guys who insist on trying to market gear or who want nothing more to start trouble. The latter is going to happen regardless, however, the incidence of those trying to post gear availability and source prices can be reduced by simple disclaimers that are ENFORCED. I like this board, although I have experience in the field (A.S.) and a medical backround I enjoy hearing the others opinions and would hate for those with something real to contribute to up and leave the board. get big or get out IP: Logged |

JB, Most everyone will agree with you, but as to the practicality of solutions, there are problems. As moderators, we try to delete the source posts - and we do a good job of this, with help from vigilant members. There is a fine line between members wanting to start trouble and people with diverse opinions. Disagreement is a human condition and expressing that is OK, particularly on the chat board. I know that there are some people who post with the intent of starting problems. Those posts are often deleted quickly, but blocking the people from the board is very difficult. Yes, their IP address can be blocked, but even then, it takes just minutes to get another IP address from their ISP (internet Service Provider), or to use a friend's computer or a computer at a library. Many of these problems are inherent to discussion boards. Look at other boards and see the same thing. I appreciate you bringing the problems to our attention. But if you really want to try something cool, try offering a WORKABLE solution. Later Matt IP: Logged |

JB.. Matt's right about screening on the internet there is just no way to do it. IP addresses? Yeah sure. I'm sitting in a room with a block of 255 IP address right now. If I use a dial-up they are assigned dynamically and I could be anyone. It's like bad conversations around you in a bar, ignore it. It's not this site or any other site it's the whole medium. The technology is just not there yet. IP: Logged |
