I have alway tried but just never seem to do it. If you do keep one what benefit do you think that you get from it? IP: Logged |

Beezer, how did you train yourself to carry it around all the time? No less write in it? I have tried this twice already and have failed both times... IP: Logged |

I ALWAYS bring my log to the gym. I also log my cardio on it. Really helps when you cant remember how much weight you lifted last time and the amount of reps. Throw it in the trunk and its always there. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Yes, I write down the date and my present weight, then my list of exercises time # of sets. When I get to the gym all I have to fill in is # of reps. I can compair my # of reps with previous weeks to see if I'm making improvements, and if I'm not I know I need to make adjustments, usually cutting back on my training does the trick. My memory is not that good from week to week, let alone day to day so if you can make it without a training log, I wish I had your brains. Precision, bro, precision. IP: Logged |

I was wanting to ask the same question. I just started to take mine with me to the gym cause i cant ever remember the weight and what i reached failure at the last time. I was wondering how stupid i might look cause nobody else has one or at leased carries it with them to the gym. ------------------ IP: Logged |

It becomes habit. Eventually you won't even think about it, you will just write in it. Dosn't take that much time or effort. IP: Logged |

I know they don't carry one at my lame ass gym. You got people lifting, but they are just watching the weight go up and down, no intensity, I can tell. Think of your training, your diet, and your AS as prescribed doses. Our elite bodies are like race cars, all fluid levels good and all equipment tight. Keep it that way if you want to win. Keeping track of your progress is a pain, but you do get used to it.Its a great motivator to see all your gains. What i do is bring scrap paper to the gym write down all i do,cause half threw the work out i can hardly read my own writing, then transfer it to my journal at home in my spare time.Take the time to start a log,and stick with it you wont be sorry. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I love my log. I use it to motivate myself during hard weights, pleatues... sp?. I like to see where I was, and where I am, then I can see what I will be. ------------------ "Obsession is passion. Use it. Make it your strength." -by Puc IP: Logged |

My first cycle I used it religiously, It was a great way to see improvment and give motivation - After I came off, I saw less improvment and kinda tossed it in the closet. But now that I think about it, I think it is more important to keep the log when your gains are minimal, b/c thats when its so important to know how much you need to get to be better... I am glad this topic came up, I am gonna be a log toater again. Slopain IP: Logged |

I have to keep a log with me...like you all said its a great way to track progress and remember everything that you are supposed to do for the day. It motivates me to keep seeing the weight I'm lifting go up and up and up. IP: Logged |

I've been wanting to keep one myself for awhile, but my excuse was, "Just one more thing I have to do - as if I don't already have enough." The key word here being EXCUSE. So, I just did it - very helpful. JUST DO IT. IP: Logged |

I started keeping a training log almost a year ago. I am so glad I did. I know how much I weighed, what exercises I've done, how much my strength has increased. It is a great idea and I totally recommend it to anyone.

Yes, I have kept a training log for almost two years. I'm so glad I have done this......ditto to what the others have said. Also, I write down simple things such as if I work out at a different time of the day from usual, and I write down how I feel that night, esp. if I'm sick and leave the gym. I might later go back and wonder why I only did four sets of an exercise or something such as this.....a training log is just a habit. I keep it in my gym bag. ------------------ IP: Logged |
