I went to the concert last night in Pittsburgh. I just wanted you guys to know that if you used to listen to these bands in the 1980's go see them now. The show was GREAT, not to mention funny seeing girls with the "mall hair" again. All of the bands were really good, and Brett Michaels at the end of the Posion show started letting the crowd come up on stage, it was awesome guys! Basically, I felt like I was in high school again... Any other concerts that you have been to recently feel free to post about... IP: Logged |

Superdrag is on tour right now. THey are a great little rock band out of Knoxville here. Go to one of their shows if you get the chance, they are amazingly good. If you've never heard them, get their CD Head Trip In Every Key, listen, then be amazed. IP: Logged |

I used to listen to Dokken a long time ago when they first came out. It seems like great guitar players are a thing of the past. Hey Bucky, I used to live in Knoxville. go Vols! Ever heard of a hilarious dude named Leroy Mercer and his prank phone calls? IP: Logged |

Yeah Backdoc, leroy mercer is almost a thing of the past though, I think I have a recordingofarecordingofarecoding of it somewhere in the attic. When I was doing orientation at UT last year, we went through the football team's gym. it is its own building. All equipment shiny. every machine or rack has a 4 foot tall spitoon (No clue why) between it and the next piece of equipment. Free food all over the place. Oh yeah, that gym also includes a turf football field inside. Meanwhile I can look at the gym building while i sit in class in deteriorated classrooms and pick boogers off the desk. dingdong IP: Logged |

I hope the tickets were cheap. They were great when I was in High school ten years ago. I bet they had Viagra at the after party. L8R ------------------ IP: Logged |

GUYS>>>> did all of you read this while you were drunk or what? i said yes, they WERE great bands back in the 80's... so we went to see them. I don't listen to them now on a day to day basis. It was just the point I made like Thiassi said "they were good when we were in H.S." IP: Logged |

I went to that concert in Jersey, your right it kicked ass. Bret did the same at the end here. The last song they played was with Kiss. It was probably the best concert I went too besides Woodstock 99. Poison put on an awesome show. This is the kind of concerts I like were you could just chill and listen to good music as the band puts on a good show. The bands that are out now don't even try to get the crowd into it, they play and then walk off the stage. Plus I'm not a big fan moshpits, to me it makes no sense. Those who said these bands suck have no clue what is good music. I like the new music now too, but if you have any musical background you would know that the bands from the 80's and early 90's have much more talent than whats out there right now. IP: Logged |

The other day I almost puked. I was in an elevator and thought the music was pretty catchy...then I realized it was the elevator musical rendition of "Jump" by Van Halen. It made me think of how old I was that this was the music that helped me cope with high school, now relegated to some forgetfully toned-down and tuned-out floor to floor music. Really bummed me out. Made me feel like my next errand should be to get some geritol or metamucil. Oh well, at least I liked early Metallica. IP: Logged |

Van Halen kicks ass, maybe not the elevator music though. Im 18 and I can honestly say I hate pretty much all the new bands and music. I like Floyd, Zeppelin, Mettalica, Doors, Ozzy, Van Halen, G&R, Hendrix, Vaughn, etc. IP: Logged |

hey Moe bro...actually the Scorpions were a pretty good metal band. Any lyrics taken out of the context of a song can sound stupid. Just curious what you consider to be "Great Music"?? Here are some lyrics from some of the "Great Bands" of today. I'm Slim Shady, yes i'm the real Shady...etc. I'm a cowboy baby...etc. I did it all for the nookie...etc. It looks like it took "Great" talent to write these. You might also consider that many of the guys in metal bands could actually play their instruments and did not have to rely on stealing others works through sampling. Like any form of music there were good bands and crappy bands. IP: Logged |
