I'm going to the World's Fair in Hanover Germany in August and I like to keep the "good bodybuilder diet" that you all know of. The few times I found myself in a German resturaunt in the states, I just closed the menu and ordered water. Is the food that bad over there and should I brown bag it while traveling the whole time? I need something besides different versions of SPAM while I'm over there for three weeks! Anybody who's traveled give me suggestions for that part of the world. IP: Logged |

I just want to have plenty of choices of the folllowing while traveling: a lean serving of protein, a complex carbohydrate that was not prepared in a bucket of fat sauce, and a serving of fresh uncooked vegetable. Simple. Seems I was able to order that at popular American resturaunts Like Bennigan's, AppleBee's, Golden Corral, Sizzlin' Steak House, Chile's, the list goes on. IP: Logged |

yes the food in europe sucks. Not to generalize, but it is world known and from personal experience it isnt the best shit to eat. You will need plenty of salt and I would take as many real replacements as poss. I think most of the people over there are lacking in taste buds. I love the country and it is better than america, but the food sucks. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I don't want KFC. I hate fast food and the fat fucks that eat it. I want to eat clean, it can be bland, hell I eat oatmeal all the time. Tell me what a European bodybuilder would have access to if he were going out to eat. That is if he were eating clean. Give me some popular places to eat and what to order, thats what I'm looking for. IP: Logged |

Good thing you like oatmeal cause German food will drive you crazy if you wanta eat clean.Get a food translation book, they are cheap and at every bookstore.Take it everywhere cause you might end up with wild-boar balls instead of the steak you thought you ordered.Seriously though,Hanover is a big, modern city and you'll eat fine if you know what to order. I trained in poland for like 2 months the food is very greesy but i got strong off of it but also gained about 15 lbs of fat! Dudes are strong out there, you can get gear over the counter. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Germany has great food ! Schnizel (sp) is pork, there are several differnt variations of the name according to how it is prepared. There is one particular dish that is like a london broil sterak, it is roasted and cooked with peppers...very lean. You'll find that it is very American over there. I was there in Novemeber, fast food crap everywhere. I did a whole tour, even ate at a Chili's in Insbrook Austria ! BPP IP: Logged |

Spent some time in Dusseldorf, and the train depots have all these little markets. Great to pick up food. Eat like a pig. Just avoid the sausages and intestines. The greek food markets, turkish food markets, and US fast food places are good. Have fun IP: Logged |

I like the food in most European countries. You can get a wide variety of food in Germany; pretty much anything you like. BTW, BPP--the classic version of Wiener Schnitzel uses veal, although many other schnitzels use pork. I find if I'm travelling it's best not to be too compulsive about my diet. I have a better time that way. Then again, I never enjoyed dieting. IP: Logged |
