Does anyone own a camaro and know of any restoration clubs in texas esp for the older first and second generation (67-81) yrs? This is probably a little off topic but i know a lot of you guys are knowledgeable about cars and i figure somenoe might know something. Im very new to any kind of car restoration and i have a lot of work that needs to be done to it. Im starting to focus more attention to my car then to working out (which is not exactly a good thing becasue i dont know enough about restoring it and nor have the money for it). But im spending little by little on it. someone if you can help me out point me in the right direction. Also id like to hear anyone elses story about there car restoration if you like doing this expensive hobby???

yo, powerbuilt! I don't know squat about car restoration, but I want a 67-69 Camaro BAD! A buddy just bought a cherry 67 - totally rebuilt. Big bucks, though. What year do you have? Good luck with the restoration. Don't let it interfere too much with your training, bro.

Powerbuilt, if you don't have money for a resto, then you won't need a guy in your area, they're expensive as hell. Jeff Lilly is one of the best and he's in Houston I believe. He can do any car right. My GTO has been disassembled for 4 yrs with 6500$ in parts waiting for me to get off my ass. My advise is get a low/no rust car and do piece by piece. What yr is the Camaro?

I own a 74 camaro, ive done a few thing to the rearend and ignition. there are just a few things that piss me off about it, and thats all the wiring. i have found tons and tons of wires going from my fuse box, through the interior which, id say, needs a little work(thats an understatement), then it goes to the rear of the car into the trunk. Now using my common sense tells me that it is for the rear window defogger which at the time is out of operation(because of course its not hooked up) but there are so many of wires hanging around, so which one to use? thats just a little bit of my problem, but im learning, and no im not gonna let it interfere TOOOO much with my training. This is why i love my car.

did the rearend with the auburn gear carrier and 3.73s, and ignition i put on a accel distributor because the rotor was burnt and the stock distributor is old. soon im gonna put new axles in because they are worn. and get the rims refinished and repaired because the rear rims are bent. haven't done any interior all though it needs it. plan on also putting in a 2800 stall converter and bigger cam.
