its all a cycle man. then you cycle back up, then you cycle back down. its the best way to do it. yeah i know the feeling though, all that hard earned muscle going away, but then look on the bright side, you probably look better shredded.

I was always like that too...I wouldn't wear a tank top unless my arms were 18+ because I was so insecure...what's worse is when you actually realize you're huge...now I spend all day in front of the mirror...

I'm dieting for the same reason, and mentally it sucks. I've never dieted down B4. I hope it works out well for both of us cause I want my Ben&Jerry's!!!!

how low are you planning on cutting to? if you can see striations in your legs and your abs are ripped. then you should know where you are at. now its time to figure on the weak points and cycle back up prioritizing those weak points. no need in tearing yourself up so much if you arent competing. if you are doing it for practice and experience thats cool, but dont experiment too much to where you will hate yourself for losing x amount of weight. yknow? thats just what i think at least. good luck striation man. im jealous.

BigNate's got a point, but you're the only one who can actually see yourself so you know what your doing. It's a little different for a girl - yea, you hate to see your strength go (Man I HATE THAT) and you lose some size, but you actually appear more amazing because you have definition. People are like, "Wow, you look really good!" So focus on that and don't worry about the rest. The size thing is more psychological - be confident and give yourself credit where credit is due and others will "magically" take on your attitiude. If you constantly walk around saying, "I'm so small and weak." People will start to believe it. Confidence is very sexy!

Being bulked up is equally hard for girls. It's difficult walking around with 10 - 15# of extra fat because uneducated idiots who don't know dick about squat are like, "Oh but look, you lost all your cuts! "FUCK YOU, YOU PENCIL-DICKED ASSHOLE! YOU THINK MY FUCKING MIRROR'S BROKE! DAH! IF I DIDN'T BULK UP I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO PUT ON ANY MASS AND THEN I'D BE A SKINNY LITTLE CHICK WITH ARMS AS SMALL AS YOU! YOU FUCKING GYM-IDIOT!"

Can't wait to see pics

Mrmuscle- trust me, you are a big mofo. I'm trying to cut up for summer and I thought I was maintaining my weight, but I just jumped on the scale before and I lost five pounds in the past two weeks. My abs do look better than they ever have so I'm gonna stay with it. My strength, suprisingly, has not gone down. I plan to start bulking SERIOUSLY, for the first time in Sept. I will continue to bulk until I gain between 30-40 lbs. I know it sounds high, but I have never really bulked properly and now know my body and the proper diet for my body well. So if that takes me 6 months or 2 years, I'm determined to stick with it. Hey, if I get good at the bulking, I may try and push the 200 mark, but that will be a longer term goal.
Anyway, more along the lines of your question, I think it is good to cut up so you can see those muscles you've worked so hard to create. Go ahead and strut your stuff at the beach and then bump your weight back up in the fall and winter. Who wants to be big, but have no abs on the beach. You can be 15 lbs less, but look much better. I think I'm done rambling on now.

you know what i've found is that when you are more defined. the bigger you look towards other people. its funny cause when i bulked up and i was just huge that nobody really noticed. then i started cutting up and lost like 12 lbs and everybody was saying that i looked bigger than before. when you start seeing the cuts and stirations in your muscle, thats when you look bigger and better...

Well I admit to KNOWING NOTHING about dieting down (I am just a beginner here)...but I definately agree with bignate...if you can see what you need to in terms of striation/cuts/definitions etc and you are not competing, why press your body? Now you can go back to work on what needs growth and improvement. On the other hand, only you know what is right for you...so if you like what you see and think you can go further - go for it!!

Bmom- I would love to have my ass kicked in the gym by you. You scare me and I think thats wonderful!! I love your drive - truly inspiring!

thanks for the advice guys, and gals.

i have 4 more weeks to go..then i can eat again...cant wait

im gonna start bulking immediately again..although my bulking diet doesnt seem like one, it gets me almost 6000 calories a day..and its all "good" foods. but i have to admitt, i like being able to see my abs...and a new vein pops up every day...the coolest one so far is the one on my lower abs...hehe, love it..

but like 5 years from now im hoping to be 233 when im ripped...not when i startd dieting down

Sky - today was back day. Have you ever heard of feeling like you're gonna puke on freaking BACK DAY?! I even made my hubby wince, a tiny wince but a wince nontheless! We began and ended our workout with 4 sets of pull-ups, first super-setted with pull-downs, then with dumbbell rows. In between there were t-bar rows and bent-over barbell rows. With the exception of one other girl who is genetically gifted (much larger frame, broad shoulder and the like) I am THE BIGGEST chick in there! Does it bother me that I'm no longer a size 0? FUCK NO - CAUSE THAT AIN'T NORMAL!

It's nice to have people, especially the guys look at you with respect and not just like some chick they'd like to ...well, you know. (Not that I mind that part too much - Hell, one of my main objectives in life is to go to my grave being able to wear coochie-cutters if I so choose!) But it's nice to know that these people think, "Damn, she's hardcore!" and not just some little gym-chick, you know?

i never have dieted down but i always want to be bigger. not freak huge like the pros but huge...like a wrestler or something. but yeah , if i dont go to the gym for a few days i feel smaller. alot of this game is mental and i'd say thats the toughest part.

BMom - no so far the only day I want to puke is legs....but give me a bit of time and I'll make myself sick on back day too! I don't have a training partner to push me (except you all here - thank you Mr M) and I workout at home so its just me myself and I going to whatever limit I can. Yes I will eventually get back to the gym...I'm close to not having enough weight at home to throw around and be effective anyway. Then I can really cause myself some pain...he he he.
