I noticed afew posts on the anabolic board about these.

I just have to say that I incorporated them into my routine about 2 weeks ago. Before then, I was using hyperextensions with plates for my lower back.

I wish I had started deads sooner! What a pump you get, and my heart rate jumps up to about 120 and I feel like pukeing. The next day I'm sore as hell in all the parts of my back, traps, forearms, and rear delts. What a great feeling!

If I do stiff-legged deads, I feel it in my hamstrings.

Fuck, I NEVER see anybody in my gym doing deads or squats, It's true, you see a ton of people with great upper development, but then they have these skinny chicken legs-looks really funny, I have to laugh to myself.

I WILL ALWAYS DO DEADS AND SQUATS FROM NOW ON!!!!!!!

I started doing deadlifts about a year ago on the advice of my man...i always squatted, always benched, but man, when I started them, my mass in my back blew up, & my overall strength increases....I love them & they are an integral part of my workout now

I have been doing deadlifts for about 5 months. They and bench press day are my favorite day. My left hand grip is my weak link for deads.

love stiff leg deads. good trick is to keep the back arched, come down half way down to your shins, dont let the plates touch the ground and come half way up. doing 295 for 12 to 15 for two or three sets, it makes you very sore. keep your head up of course!!!

Yeah, nobody does them. In my Gym I have only seen one other guy, than myself, do them.
Now when everyone talks about them they call them "Stiff Leg" dead lifts, which is what I do. Is there another variety?

I love dead lifts...the only problem with doing them is the next few days I have a hard time walking.

My lower back muscles are weak and pitiful, my hamstrings are also a weak area so deadlifts sound like what I probaly should be doing. Can you help me out with proper form? Also how often should I be doing them to start out with - once a week or twice a week?
Thanks
Temple

Thanks to stiff legged deadlifts, my hamstrings are my strongest bodypart and my squat has increased considerably. The only thing that sucks is when you do them for the first time after taking a few weeks off, you have trouble sitting down the next few days.

Stiff-legged, sumo style, clean-pulls.....I do them and love them all. The clean-pulls are the best over all exercise on the planet. All the benefits of a deadlft with the added stress on upper traps and calves. Bullistic!
