Is the fukin man !!!!!!!!! I have recently bought both his albums. This guys a genius, his songs though a bit fuked up are wicked and he makes me laugh sooooooo much. He just don't give a fuk and cusses anyone he wants to. Real slim shady, my fault and stan are just a couple of songs that I think are real good. Damn there are too many to list. I wouldn't necessarily say he was a sellout. I mean....when Eminem was just starting out, he was considered "underground". I'm sure he was waiting for his "big break" at becoming more mainstream. I bet if you ask any underground artist if they would want to be more mainstream, or just stay underground, they would pick being mainstream. That's where all the money is!! Eminem grew up in the suburbs, then moved to an urban area for a period of time...where he naturally picked up the accent. Now he's back in the burbs again. It's not a 'black' accent, it's an 'urban' accent first and hip hop accent next. Don't descriminate!! I like the old Marshal Mathers better too, but it's no where near as good as this. When you have more $, you can afford better production, engineering, etc. I don't blame him for going for the $, and Dre always puts up good stuff. Not liking artists when they go from underground to mainstream is total BS! Every artist's dream is to reach the widest range of audience. People that don't listen to mainstream are afraid of being the same as someone else. What, are you in the band or something? Trying to 'discover' a group b4 they get big? Stupid. I love eminem, he is my favorite along with dre and Biggy, to bad hes dead though. I love dre and slim together, they can think of some good shit, like on cronic, I love that cd. flex B, i know many well know "underground artists", from LA, denver, NY and most of them say they do it for the love, they sell there stuff over the internet and that's all there business. most of them would choose an "underground" fan base because there loyal, and alot can relate to the fan's. most "underground" artist can't make in the mainstream either. most rap fan's want to hear shit like money, cars, and women. you can't find many underground artist that ryhme about shit like that. look at mos def he's doing a liitle better then he did back in 95-98, but he can't compare to jay-z, master p record wise. i give much respact to underground artists because there in there producing there own stuff, writting all there stuff, they do it cause they want there friends to hear there new stuff. i know guys that make 3-4 tapes a year. now that's dedication. plus they don't have to pay any unnecassary people, they sell a tape for $8 they get $8, they do a show they get the money, unlike reciving $1 for a cd that cost $17. just my opion. ------------------ IP: Logged |
