My wife is a personal trainer and we talk about this a lot. I have lived in Europe before for about 4 years and you hardly see any overweight people like you do here. It's amazing sometimes. It also seems like a lot of obese clients that come to my wife for help give up quickly. What do you think the cause is? Fast food restaurants? IP: Logged |

I agree after going to London and was shocked to see the number of obease people - there were only a very few. The focus is sooo different in America. We see commercials all the time for food, signs on the side of the road. Europe standards are so different and the focus is not as much on food. America is truely the land of milk and honey. I wonder about my kids and try to give them a different focus. I dont reward them with food, or make going out to dinner a big deal. I think the kids are taught that food is a status symbol and so imporntant, that they become obsessed sometimes. Poor kids. Bunny "This is who we are" IP: Logged |

Yup. Moe's right. I laugh when I see them. Fat, gross slobs that drive around the mall parking lot looking for the closest spot to the door so they dont have to walk. Chowing down on double bacon cheese burgers, fries and a diet coke (like the diet coke makes a difference). Then they take pills that are supposed to help them lose weight while they sleep. Pretty fucking pathetic. It makes me feel that much better about the time I put in the gym while they lay on the sofa watching TV. IP: Logged |

The state of affairs with our nation and obesity is apalling. It boils down to simple over abundance and sloth amongst our nations people. I mean really, how many people below the age of 40 are in shape. They are all overweight. Kids do nothing but play video games and stuff their faces with processed foods. Our peers are just gross for the most part. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Seriously, there needs to be a final solution to the fat fuck problem. Yet, in this country, don't we have the most # of buffed? Look at all these countries where roids are legal, usually just a bunch of little brown people. Go figure. IP: Logged |

you guys are ridiculous...who cares if people are obese, they can choose to eat whatever they want and if they eat crap like Burger King, you will all look better, but who are you to care...Does the number of obese Americans bother me? not at all...as a matter of fact, me and my lifting partner will still have the occasional contest to see who can knock down a sack of ten bacon cheeseburgers from white castle every so often...if the number of obese Americans bothersyou, stay in England ------------------ IP: Logged |

I was down the shore last weekend, walking around the boardwalk, & let me tell you, I was noticing the # of overweight kids, we are talking 10, 11 year old little kids with bellies & cellulite....I think it is really sad what we are coming to.....with all this technology kids are indoors more & more, on the computer, watching tv....you dont see them out playing, running, nothing....I think the problem is only going to get worse when that generation gets a little older. you are right about that fitness chick...I work at a park with little kids, the ones that I work with areactive because the park runs games and stuff like that...goes to watch the Jets practices, encourages activity...there are alot of kids these days who are fat and sluggish and spend their days playing video games and that is something that parents should take care of... ------------------ IP: Logged |

haha...if i'm ever in florida moe, you and me are gonna gave to go burger king, i love that stuff, we got to hit the beach to and give away some whoppers to the "beach whales". i came from a different country, a poor 3rd world country. and trust me, nobody is overweight down there except for the filthy rich and they are nothing compared to the bahimiths you see here. i think the economy here is too good so people just spend their money on whatever ie. food. i guarantee you that you take away most of these obese peoples income and they'll look like my people in a couple of years... ------------------ IP: Logged |

I do not see why most do not try and stick with a program to lose the weight, I think when they start a program they think it will happen quickly and when it does'nt they give up, or have low self esteme, however you spell it, alot of people start when they are very young and where brought up that way, just my .02 worth. But I do feel sorry for the ones with the health problems that cause the weight, but not the ones that eat all the time. IP: Logged |
