I saw this lady doctor on the news who has a book out called the "Adonis Complex". Her theory is that we are all sick fucks like anorexics and such, obsessed with our builds. We probably are, but she makes the statement that, by her survey "women prefer men with average bodies", in other words, skinny pukes and dough boys. Bullshit..do you see women turn and look at geeks in public places? Anyway, what do the women say about this that you brothers know?

Have you seen Michelangelo's statue of Adonis - really ripped, but no pecker or balls - must have used Deca.

all i know is that it makes no sense. women are attracted to muscular builds because of evolutionary traits. a strong man can hunt better, fuck better and provide for her and her child better than a weak man, therefore carrying her genes forward into future generations. that might not be the case anymore because of technology, but those traits are deeply rooted in our dna (this is also the reason they are usually attracted to a guy with a nice ass, because that is a sure sign of athletic ability).
anyway, i think what that lady said is bullshit, probably marketed towards ordinary men with inferiority complexes. besides, she has obviously never fucked a bodybuilder.

I dont know, I ask girls at my college this ALL the time! Many say that toned and skinny is perfect. Some girls thought ricky martin is even a little too big! Almost all of them definatley think that the guys in the magazines are GROSS. But im sure they dont realize those pics are retouched and they are very pumped in the pics. most people dont walk around that veiny all the time! But i dont give a shit. i work out for me and only me. My theory: Women that dont like really muscular guys are too self conscious of their own bodies, hence too afraid of competing with their man!

decibel is absolutely correct. It all goes back to evolution and DNA. A woman is attracted to strong characteristics whether it be physical, mental, emotional, etc. You saw that on one of those PBS specials didn't you? I did too. All I know is that I see PLENTY more hotties with either cut or buff dudes, rather than the average or puny guy.

Ok guys, want to hear a girl's opinion??
We do like to LOOK and ADMIRE buff guys. But when it comes to boyfriend/husband, the less than perfect gives us more security. Think about it, would you feel secured with a perfect bod when your own physique is only average or even on the chubby side, which is 98% of the female population? I think the emphasis for women used to be on strength/build for the hunting/gathering/humping hehe but evolution dictates that power is money now, not physical strength... I think it's probably hard to break down into what women want physically in a man. Just because you have a good body doesn't mean you'll get women. If you take a muscular ugly guy vs. a good looking guy with an average build, all else being equal the women will probably go for the better looking guy. Of course if you had identical twins side by each, natural ectomorphs, and one had used steroids and put on say 30lbs more than his twin, then I'm sure the girl would choose the more muscular twin.

Just thought I'd add my 2 cents. In reality, none of us know what girls want because girls don't even know what girls want.

All the girls I know in the modelling industry and elsewhere are always more turned on by a nice buffed physique but not to big say 175 to 180 with 5 % bodyfat and sometimes money does come first to women but if u have both it shouln't be a problem on getting unlimited women but then again u now that women are using u for your money . So the point is I work out for myself so I can look good and make money in the modelling industry which I have been doing for 3 years now . I don't look good for no one but myself but i'm not that big either way my agents will not allow me to go more than 175 and no more than a 8% bodyfat. But if I quit modelling I'm going over 200 lbs with less than a 8% bodyfat . I love muscle and lots of it and I don't care what women think.

You guys are so funny. I think ya'll are all correct actually. DNA has tons to do with it-- survival of the fittest etc. But for me its more of a compatibility issue. I spend time bustin' butt at the gym I definitely am not going to be attracted to a fat slob no matter how much $ he's got. But the total package means far more to intelligent women (ya know, brains, sincerity, honesty etc.) Money is far less of an issue with women who are sweet and sincere. The fact remains however that finding someone attractive is the first step in any relationship. The bigger and buffer the better I say as long as they are HONEST.

i do know this, i attract alot more women when i am in cutting phase than bulking phase. at 5'7", 175 is where i end up after a decent cycle, but at 165 with 6% gets me many more compliments by FAR! women love muscular LEAN bodies from my experience.

personally I don't give a fuck what women like right now i'm 175 with 5% bodyfat and most women I know say that they prefer me better at 175 than 200 lbs. But I'm a model and my agents tell me if i go over 185 my modelling carreer is over. But if I had the chance I would weight over 200 lbs with 5% bodyfat like I was before I was modelling . I love to be big and strong right now I'm cut and athletic not the same feeling. But as soon as my modelling is over I'm going for a muscle explosion and I don't give a damn if women like me better or not at least I will feel better about myself and that's the most important thing..
