Black, I disagree. Wear approx what you will work in. Would you interview at merrill Lynch in a sweatsuit? No. Then don't interview at a gym in business attire. Casual at most. matt

Blackhaus - I put people to work and interview for a living...definately dress business casual...slacks and blouse or skirt and blouse but not a three piece suit. And bring your gym bag just in case...GOOD LUCK! IP: Logged |

i agree, biz casual definitely. no need for the dark blue business suit and the whole 9. not for a place that will be so relaxed. they want to see you dressed nice but not out of place. IP: Logged |

TAKE YOUR MEDICATION AND GET THE FUCK OUT! I apologize for the little rant. For a job like that, I would say business casual. Good luck! IP: Logged |

BLACKHAUS ~ HERE IS MY .02, HONESTLY AS LONG AS YOU HAVE YOURSELF IN A CASUAL AND CLEAN APPEARANCE YOU CAN WEAR WHATEVER YOU ARE COMFORTABLE IN. MY SISTER IS A PT AT A LOCAL GYM, AND THEY ACTUALLY HAVE THE GIRLS THERE AT THE FRONT DESK WEAR A COMPANY SHIRT MOST OF THE TIME. THEY AREN'T TOO STRICT ON THE CLOTHING. IP: Logged |

My gym too...they wear a company provided shirt with kaki pants or black sweat pants...you have a lot going for you because you do workout, so you know your way around a gym, you look good and are fit...I would think all gyms would want a pretty girl that is fit at the front desk as the first person you see walking into the gym. Good luck on your interview!! IP: Logged |

I would wear casual clothes because it doesn't sound like a High paying job, I would know because I do the exact same shit, graveyard from 10pm to 8am at a desk at a gym. IP: Logged |

Looks at what the "front" girls weare now and then wear the same style but a VERY nice version of that...make sense? You want to wear the best outfit that is applicable for the job you are applying. If you are interviewing to be a plumber, you want to wear the best outfit you have that really emphasizes your crack well, know what I mean? IP: Logged |

It really depends on the gym...The gym I have the interview at is a brand new Powerhouse, 22000 sq feet, with childcare services, a juicebar...its gorgeous, doesn't reek, and no waiting for machines!!!!!! its your typical Long Island jappy gym...LOL ------------------ IP: Logged |

Well, here is my opinion. I am a manager for a gym in New York. I said wear casual (no jeans & t-shirt) and have a clean apperance. You have to remember you are the person at the front when everybody walks in. I bet once you get the job. If it is a pretty big gym then they will provide you with a company polo shirt. That what I have at my gym. Good Luck ------------------ Getting Bigger and Harder By The Second. [This message has been edited by MakingGains (edited June 16, 2000).] IP: Logged |

I don't understand why the board is being polluted with these juvenile posts lately. I've been reading the board for about 6 months and don't remember seeing all this idiotic garbage. In fact I've been impressed with the quality of the information and opinions shared here. I have learned a great deal since reading the posts. I can only guess that some of the new members like Theron and gaywhatever has mental problems. Too bad they can't find somewhere else to get the attention they apparently crave. IP: Logged |

Blackhaus, Do you have one of those semi-stretch black dresses? Not too tight, and definitely not too loose. Just a nice fitting basic black dress. See, it will look dressy or casual depending on the setting. Don't wear stocking, cause that might dress it up too much. wear a nice pair of black shoes. Definitely not pumps, sandals, or high heels. Something kinda casual, but definitely black. Wear very light makeup, almost nonexistent. Wear your hair back. Looks will be abig part of the job and if you are cute (which I imagine you are) more of your cuteness will be exposed if your hair is back. Don't wear it up tho, no matter what you do. Only wear it down if you recently had it professionally styled and its looking all pretty and shiny. Otherwise wear it back in a cute style. Maybe have a few strands hanging down in your face, but just a few. Don't over do it. Wear a soft perfume that is not to flowerly, and not to suggestive. Maybe something that is very subtle. Wear a very soft color of lipstick. Take a nice matching bag with you. Preferably, one that could be mistaken for a portfolio. That way, it will look like you're bringing a portfolio. The interviewer won't know what to think. Basically, I just gave you a lesson in how to appeal to many views and many perspectives at one time. Trust me, follow this advice and you will get the job. If anybody needs help, I'll be glad to help from the underwear on up! IP: Logged |
