I could take up 100 pages worth of ideas. What direction are you lookin to go with it? Lowrider? Street rod? Classic? There's ten million different ways you could go. That would be a pretty cool car no matter which way you go though.

First, decide what kind of wheels you want to go with. If you want 20 inch billet wheels, you kind of have to go with the street rod/ hot rod look. If you're into 24k daytons or that sort of thing, you're stuck with the lowrider image. Start with the wheels and go from there. I imagine you're probably not to good at bodywork. If this is the case, find a good street rod shop in your area. It doesn't matter which direction you go with the thing, they can to the work. The key is finding a GOOD shop. My truck was in the shop for 2.5 years for just suicide doors! The guy was an asshole and the work sucked. Paint also depends on wheels. Wire wheels would look good with candy paint or metal flake. BIG billet wheels look awesome with a nice base color with subtle graphics. And so on and so on. Just start with the wheels!!

If its horsepower, I'm into it. I don't care for the fad look with the paint jobs from hell or the jumpers. The gaudy interiors and mirrors are too much for me but I appreciate al of it and the skill it takes. I'm going with a F-B-S-S kit. Reds hopefully but Luxor has a new one that a local has advertised and I might try that one. I plan on trying my hand at interiors on this Imp. Thats the whol reason I bought it. Its a four door and I want the mob cruiser look with black everything except for the chrome. Flamethrower out the 3" pipes are on the schedule, too. Destroked 400sbc, 200R4 trans for the drivetrain in the future. I like the simple interior with buckets and 1 or 1.5 inch rolls. Headliner like that too and the trunk. I've got so many projects going it isn't funny. Check out the cars or bikes post

You don't want to hear this, but I wouldn't put pumps on it. I've had them and done nothing but damage with them. The best setup in the world will still break, leak, have the occasional fire, etc. Airbags are the way to go. Dependable and a smooth ride. Oh yeah, I'm not really into lowriders too much either, for me it's minitrucks and Mercedes.

Thanks for the info. I'll be on the trail for air bags in the next month then, I appreciate the help. Can they do th F-B-S-S stuff? I'm not looking to jump, just move the damn thing. What gets damaged if I don't do the hop stuff? I thought you put on limiting chains to stop the hydros from over extending and damaging things?

Uh, I think your button stuck! Yeah, bags will do F/B/S/S. They can even hop if you get the large valves and ported bags. Chains suck for the street, more for competitioin. Who wants to drive around all day with shit hanging under your car, or making noise if you don't wrap them. Hydros are just too much stress. I ripped both strut towers out of the front of my truck, but it was doing 3-wheel so it was still cool! Pumps leak eventually, or blow lines. You don't want this in your interior, it never comes out. Don't forget the herd of batteries pumping out at least 72 volts if you want the thing to move quick enough to get over things in the road. That will surely create a fire somewhere down the road. One more thing, you can spend more for a GOOD bag setup than you can for a hydro setup. But it's worth it in the long run. With Hydros you'll make that money up in no time in repairs.
