I realize this isn't a dental forum but I figured someone on this board has had it done. If you did, how much did it cost and was it worth it? I hear the laser whitening is like $1K and it lasts like two years or so. I'm thinking about getting it done cuz I'm about to quit smoking, and figure I'll spend the money I'll save from cigs on that. IP: Logged |

$1K...as in $1000? No way!..man, that is a lot. Have your teeth whitened costs around $275. Can you elaborate a little more on the "laser whitening"? IP: Logged |

Well they put this weird I guess bleaching gel on your teeth and then they take a laser and aim it at each tooth 3 times for 3 seconds. But yeah it costs a grand. The other way is to go to your dentist and have him make a mold for your teeth and you put the bleaching gel in it and wear the mold every night for like two weeks. Last time I went to the dentist and asked them about it, they said it was like $500. IP: Logged |

I paid $500 to have mine whitened at the dentist. it was a bleach paste that i had to put into custom made mouth plates. It worked, but goddamn i have never felt pain like that in my life. They said it would make my teeth sensitive but about every 10 minutes i would get this shooting pain that just made me want to end my life rather than feel another one. Had it done - not the laser of course but the bleaching. Moe is right you keep it in there at night and the whole morning anything that isnt room temprature is very uncomftable - worth it though, good results. The dentist is making a killing though they see you for like 20 mins and the mouthpeice is like ones you can get at Sportmart, for boxing/basketball and shit. Mine was like 270. Slopain IP: Logged |

i had the laser whitening done. it gave me some decent results but not quite as good as i'd hoped (i guess i was hoping for perfect whiteness) you should certainly be able to get it done for less than 1000 bucks. in houston you can get it done for 299. IP: Logged |
