![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What is the difference between getting your BF taken before or after a workout? I was always told it's best to get an accurate measurement right before you workout. Is it because your muscles are usually swelled up after you workout so it is harder to "pinch" the skin for the calipers? Any info from anyone would be greatly appreciated. ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() yeah bro, i think your right on that. when your muscle expands it stretches out the fat around it so it is harder to measure with calipers... ------------------ "The race is long and hard... and in the end, it's only with yourself." IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hey, everyone I also, wanted to know what I can do to lower my bf% ? I do cardio 5 days a week in the AM on an empty stomach for 30 mins. And I use weights 3 days a week. Any suggestions for me? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dlady, when you do your cardio don't eat afterwards for at least an hour. you'll burn most of the calories at that time period. when you train with weight try to keep the rest time in between your sets to about a minute or less. your diet is going to be the most important aspect though. hows your diet like? ------------------ "The race is long and hard... and in the end, it's only with yourself." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dlady I'm not trying to be rude, but if you want to post a NEW question or topic, don't add on to another thread. Go ahead and just post a new topic to the board. That way the original question on a certain thread can be answered and not get mixed up with 2 or 3 DIFFERENT questions on the same thread. Thanks. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The reason you should get it done before, is because after your workout the body has sucked in it's fluids(subcutanious)into the muscles therefore if you are using calipers its harder to get an acurate reading. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Calipers are only about as accurate as picking a number out of a hat. Their only practical use is to see changes in bodyfat - and that only applies if you have the same person test you each time with the same calipers. Their is too much varying among brands and among people using them for there to be any real consistency. D-LADY, More muscle burns more calories - you know that. But if you want to burn fat, it will only occur if your calorie expenditure is GREATER than your calorie intake, regardless of how much cardio you do. Re-evaluate your diet. Feel free to email me if you have any specific questions. Matt IP: Logged |
