Yeah I used to drag race also. Until it got to expensive. When I was in high school I had a 68 Camaro that ran 12's. Drag racing is another kewl sport, but takes too much money to do it.

I have a 74 camaro. A great car except for starting it up which takes a little warming. It could have better throtle response also which is something i intend to work on sometime this summer and also change the damn carb which is too big for the 350 motor. This is also another hobby i have besides lifting. I agree it is an EXPENSIVE SPORT!

Yeah, racing kicks ass! I have a 92 Mustang with a 408ci motor, blower, nos, full griggs suspension, 13" brakes, etc, etc,. It's not a drag car since I use it for road racing but it still tears up drag cars at the street races with the drag radials. The car puts down over 700ft/lbs of torque to the wheels on pump gas. It's an expensive addiction.

I love horsepower, we need a car forum here. I don't care if its the fucking lawnmower, I want more horsepower than anyone else. Hell, I've got a 6.75 horse lawnmower that I put a header and an air-cleaner on so I could get it over 7.0. I'd love to run the Silver State Challenge in NV. I've got a 900 horse BBC but no body. Anybody want to buy it? Hey CalKid, is that 408 a 351+040 with a 400M crank? Hows it run? Have you thought of or done Cleveland heads on a Windsor?

Hey Kahn... It's a 351w that's stroked to 408ci (JE pistons, forged rods, scat crank.) The heads are Canfield made for the Windsor. Overall, it runs very well. I don't know what the quarter mile times would be since it's set up for road-racing, but I can smoke the tires at freeway speeds even in 4th gear (with fat drag radials on the car too.)

A '89 Formula 350 with T-Tops. Runs 14.2 without traction. Hopefully moving up to a '95 badass LT1 with 6sp tranny.

Check out the link, they have stoker kits.

Hey Kahn, I had a 408 in my LX also. It was a 351w block with a Nodular iron 400m crank. Mine had Eagle H-beams, JE Nitrous piston(flat top) Cleveland 4bbl heads(open chamber) track boss intake. The intake had a fogger but, was never powered. 1 7/8 headers into 3.5 inch pipes with Ultra Flo mufflers. In a 3280(w/driver)lb car, C-4(no trans brake) ET Drag 28X10.5W tires it ran low tens at over 130!!! I swear!!! It was only 10.8 to one compression. The cam was a Ultradyne solid roller(nitrous grind!!!!) I sold it off to my friend at the end of the season. It was in Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords. We just lied about how much everything cost.
