Bros,

I just can't deal with this bullshit anymore. All these fuckin fitness magazines loaded with ads about "this creatine" or "that protein".

They of course feature pictures of top pro BB's - there's Lee Priest and ProLab (yeah like it was fuckin "N-Large" that made him so big.

Then of course Kovacs and Muscletech - yeah Greg it was the Anotesten and Nitro-Tech right? Ronnie Coleman and Met-Rx....3 shakes a day right Ronnie?

And it goes on: One magazine profiles a top BB's diet - 9,000 cals a day plus creatione and vitamins....

GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE!!!!! Does anyone believe that these guys aren't on massive AS cycles?

It's all a fucking insult to people's intelligence....rant over

Ya I agree. But it's all marketing. Will Air Jordans really make me play like Micheal Jordon? Of course not but I'll buy them because he wears them.

Hang in there bro!

Bench,

You're missing my point. Air Jordans won't make me play like Mike, or even close. But it's not like MJ has some other shoe that he plays in, and he just sells Air Jordan's.

These BB pros are saying that it was (for example) ProLab that made them huge, when in reality it was massive AS use.

Jordan would be just as good in a pair of Adidas. Everyone knows that. Take Lee Priest's AS away - watch what happens.

I know it's marketing, but the bullshit factor is much higher with supplement ads.

I'm with you Matt. It's fucking disgusting. All they're doing is preying on the young and ignorant. Thank god for boards like this one so we can find out the truth.

yeah well, shit happends. like ive said before, bodybuilding gets enough bum raps as it is. if we started giving information on drugs in every magazine they would surely ban the sport.

So what if the dont tell the whole truth, you know it, and I know it. what more do we need? The only people that thinks you can get to Lee Priest size by just doing protein are usually the guys that have more fat than muscles...and what do we care if they dont know the truth. It sure as hell doesnt hurt the sport.

I agree here isn't a decent BB mag out there anymore. I started reading M&F back in 1979 and stopped reading it in 1988. I haven't picked up one of those bullshit rags in 12 years. They all suck especially Weider and that bunch. Unfortunately the young and uninformed are buying that BS and making the f'ing companies rich.

Matt,

I think the bigger question is how would we feel about there being no sport of bodybuilding if there were no supplements?

Not defending the mags, because I agree that they are ridiculous, but the mags by themselves do not make much money, many are loss leaders for the supplements they push.
