MAO Inhibitors (many sleep drugs, antidepressants) basically work by blocking the reuptake of seretonin. If you take them, I would avoid things that increase levels of seretonin in the brain like 5-HTP, L-Tryp and others.

just a note

Paxil is Ok with AS.
But it seriously sucks comming off. Very seriously. So taper about twice as long as usuall.
Crash and burn is not fun!!
If you use Paxil, dont use st johns wort or sam-e. It has the opposite effect. Have tried it and talked it over with doc also and he said dont take them at all.
For some reason the paxil actually helps AS work better - or so the doc said, and I agree.

Hope that helps

I hear ya bro, same trouble here, I'm on serzone, celexa gave me sexual problems and no man wants that, serzone doesn't give me the sex trouble the celexa did. It's not a problem, but my High BP med does cause me to not be able to train as hard as I can when off the medication. So it's a tight rope I have to walk, with a good diet and training right 6 days a week, I should really pack on some pounds this time...

I believe that T3 will enhance the effects of the SSRI's. In fact, on particularly depressed individuals, I believe that they sometimes prescribe the two together.

Again, I did not research this like one of my newsletters, so check Medline.

Oh and johnny1111

Be sure to give it time -- can take up to 6 weeks.
