Last night 5/17/2000 on one of the news show they had a story on a retirement community for chimpanzee's. It would appear that while all the AID expriements were going on some putz didn't realize that these Chimps might just get it on. Well the idiots now have way more than they will ever need. I forgot the number, was to busy freakin on the money. Any way a group is petitioning congress for 30,000,000 to set up a retirement community for these little fellas. A club med if you will for monkey's. The stupid thing is it looks like these people will get the money. They were well organized and even brought Jane Goodall into talk. Now don't take me wrong I don't have anything against these little guys but, come on. That is alot of money that could be spent doing alot better things. Sorry put the little guys down.

why not just ship the fuckers to some country like africa where there's pleny of land for them to live free. A jail can cost $30,000,000 to build too and can be labeled as a monkey retirement community (don't mean to offend anyone) The animals shouldn't have to be kept by humans, let em live free, the way they're supposed to.

The problem is that alot of these fella's were used in the lab. They are worries about infections to the natural population. Also some of these guys now have med problems and need attention.

Here's another thing that burns me up about this. Our goverment couldn't come up with $10,000 a year it would cost to keep up the war dog memorial. Shit those guys gave there lives and saved alot of lives. Were have our priorities gone.

oh yeah i forgot about the contamination thing. That $30,000,000 could probabaly help people get educated, and help prevent the disease and be a bigger help than giving a bunch of government fucked up monkeys a place to suffer for the rest of their lives, and make all the ignorant people in our country think they're doing a good thing and feel less bad about what they're doing to the poor animals. Never heard about that war dog memorial, but yeah, I think they definitely deserve a memorial.

I love this country, I just hate what it has become.

Those monkeys never asked to be guiney pigs or to be put in that situation. So now the people with no forsight have to take care of them in their time of need. Unbelievable. And the worst thing?? I'm the one paying for it.

Well they used these monkeys to save the lives of people and that cost a shitload of money, so now that we are done with them we should just kill them all so we dont have to spend anymore money? Id rather see my hard earned money go to saving a creature than see it spent on putting some bud smoker in prison or some lazy fucker on welfare and food stamps........ and dont anyone misunderstand me, there are many people in this counrty who really do need welfare and food stamps.... but you guys know the ones Im talkin about (women who have like 6 kids by themselves from 4 different dads and keep having more kids to collect more money, etc.)

Sounds like our tax dollars hard at work again. Odds are some politician is getting a kickback on this grant. It's sad to see our countries priorities are so mispalced. We can stick our elderly in a home to rot away like yesterdays trash and forget about our veterans who gave there lives for this country. But those poor monkeys they need a home and it's the taxpayers fault now. I agree with E2, Kill them.
