   George, Man I really hate to bitch and complain but I have to tell you that the chat and conversation board has really got me pissed off. Freedom of speech and expression is one thing but I find most of the topics and conversation to be counter productive to this board and general and personally offensive. I do not think that anyone has the right to stiffle another persons opinions or life style but I do not think that this board or you should provide this type of environment to further deviant behavior. I think it will eventually bring the wrong crowd to the entire board in general. If you have the ability to read some of the posts that have been deleted, you would see the text and understand my position. Once the site is known as being an area that freely permits the posting of hard core porn and alternate life styles, I think the board will be monitored more frequently by the authorities....something that none of us need. So to get to my point, I think the reigns need to be tightened on this area of the board or even better, eliminate it. BPP IP: Logged |

Papa, provide some examples of "improper". I think alot of people may agree with those examples. However, may i suggest tackeling any issues you may have with individual posters intellectually, that issuing an emotional public rant to the boss. Papa - There is a lot of room for information on this board. I dont think a handful of posts you dont like are keeping you from getting to other posts. I read about 10% of the posts I come across. The others I pass by because the titles dont catch my interest. If you see a post titled "dildo" pass it up - you dont have to read it. As far as the info not being centered around fitness - it shouldnt be. The point of the Chat board is exactly that - bodybuilders sharing opinions on unrelated topics. Look at the discription of the Chat board - it lists sex as one of the topics. IP: Logged |

Well that's the point. As a mod I really can't just pass up a thread. If you guys had been around a year ago when this board went to hell, it was because of all the garbage that was posted. I'm not trying to take all the credit, but I spend ALOT of time trying to keep the board from reverting back into what it once was. I find it personally offensive to read things as posted above, as do others judging by the mails I get asking me to look at such posts. I understand that there needs to be a place for people to speak their minds, I just don't hink that the ELite board is the proper place. BPP IP: Logged |

Gearseeker you are so full of shit. You were all over that dildo thread. Man you even had me wondering if you were straight in the head. The blow job thread was messed up. No way that wasn't going to get ugly! The Funny, Silly, Gay chat - was one of the brothers messing around with us, but just the same its crap. I had to e-mail BPP on that. Can't go around slamming a person rep. Not to knock the mods but some of these hung around for quit a while. You guys do a great job and can't be everywhere and still give great advice. I just think you guys should be quicker to delete these threads that have no value what so ever. Here's the bottom line for me. We all want more female members. We will never have it with this stupid shit. My other half will never for one minute post and read this board with that stuff going on. We could all help the mods by using the boards better. If you have a question on AS put it there. This way they can give quick info and we will remove the majority of BS off that board. This way they can police the chat board for crap better and remove it. Alot of what being posted on the AS board doesn't belong there anyway. Just my .02. IP: Logged |

You see the description of the chat board is, A forum for all non-bodybuilding talk -- discuss life, sex, anything! , that's the problem, i don't feel as though i have the right to delete someones post about using a dildo etc if the description sayd that they have a forum to discuss anything. I understand that that particular board is there for any form of discusion..I just feel that what it has become has strayed from what it was intended to be..I also feel that the deviant theme that is has taken takes away from the validity of this board and makes some unwanted coralations between AS users and deviant behavior..My .02 ------------------ IP: Logged |

Listen up, BigPapaPump! If the off-topic Chat & Discussion Board is billed as a forum "for all non-bodybuilding talk -- [to] discuss life, sex, anything!" then one is inclined to think that sex and everything else are fair game. As a moderator, it's your job to provide information and delete particular posts as prescribed by Spellwin. It's NOT your job to dump entire threads or themes just because you don't like them or because they offend your fragile, reactionary sensibilities. Personally, I thought the dildo thread was brilliant: not only funny but informative as well. That's exactly why I contributed to it. In fact, if you'd put aside your unsophisticated shock and horror that people like to use sex toys, then you'd realize that all of the forums, since they're anonymous, provide a genuine resource for people with certain curiosities that can't be pursued in real space or time. Since you've made absolutely no mention of other threads and posts that could be considered offensive, it's pretty obvious that you're LESS interested in what's POTENTIALLY offensive and MORE interested in what offends YOU. Like the stuff you prehistorically refer to as "alternative lifestyle" oriented ... and then follow up with the ridiculous notion that Elite Fitness will be ruined if it gets to other people that the boards host people "like that". I don't know what planet you live (or lift) on, but here on Earth, it's pretty common knowledge that lots of bodybuilders are gay, and that lots of gay guys are very into fitness. Just because most gay bodybuilders keep their yaps shut about their sexuality -- probably as a way of avoiding people like you -- doesn't mean they're not around. And by the way, I'm gay, and the boards don't seem to have suffered from my contributions. BigPapaPump, you have a couple of options here. First, spend your time moving all off-topic threads to the Chat & Discussion Board. Because you ARE right that people are posting in the wrong place. Second, if you don't like sexual content and want Elite Fitness to ban it, then the only appropriate action for you to take is to suggest to Spellwin and the community at large that the off-topic board be removed. Everyone brings up some interesting points here. Several comments. It appears to me that almost everyone on my site lives an �Alternative Lifestyle.� There is not much question of this based on what I have read. The moderators are only supposed to delete posts that contain advertising, or that are racist, homophobic, anti-semantic, etc. Off topic posts should be moved from an inappropriate board to an appropriate one. Mods should send me an email if you are not sure what should or should not be deleted. I myself have been a bit shocked by some of the posts, a few of Ranger�s come to mind, but that is life. I like Ranger, and respect his right to speak his mind. The sex toy post, was I believe about a straight couple using a dildo, right? I would have let it stay on the Chat board and edited it if it got abusive or hateful. I think that those that do not care to read it should skip it. Regarding pornography, we cannot allow pornographic images here because this would be in violation of our agreement with our ISP. Fine with me to link to a porno picture or site as long as you are not advertising the site, but Elite Fitness will get in trouble if pictures show up on the board. Moderators, please delete porno pictures. Gay people have and always will be welcome here, so I think I would have left an anal sex thread and certainly a gay chat thread. If the popularity of the site suffers because of this, so be it. Obviously, discussions of deviant behavior like bestiality, child porn, etc. is absolutely not allowed and never will be. This should be deleted immediately. With all this in mind, what everyone must remember is that the moderators and I are not perfect -- we are only human. From time to time, we may edit too much, or not enough. I hope that all the members will realize this and forgive us if we make a mistake in judgement. That is why this is called a community. If something is questionable as to if it should be allowed, then mods and members should send me an email. I appreciate all of the support from the Mods and members. The boards had gone down before we went to the new format and the moderators are certainly to be commended for their contributions. I think the best way to fix this problem is to make sure the posts are on the right board. There are way to many posts on the Anabolic board that have nothing to do with what that board is about. Also, do people relly need to be told that they have email? IP: Logged |

George, I think if you just put down some ground rules and tighten up the desrciptions of the chat boards it would help alot. You can not go into the Anabolic board and talk about much else other than AS, without someone posting what does this have to do with AS. The Chat board is walled into everything except bodybuilding discussion. Most of what is posted is about a bodybuilding lifestyle or such related items. Unfortunately in the process of not offending one group you will inturn effect the other. Let me just remind that there is no free speech here. This is your's and you own it. No different from me telling someone not to come into my house, you can and have banded people from this board for thier behavior. If you set rules then we must follow. If not this board might get drug down by the few, that have in the past apparently happened. I personaly will ignore it, but others will pass on by and find another resource. This hit a note with me sorry. I work all day at using the law and rules because people bend them. I read the rules when I signed on and thing just weren't matching. Well I am guilty of breaking some of these but, these personnal attacks and the wad in the face and the dildo shit are out of hand. Big Pappa, I agree that the porn should not be here or the hate crap. I also have to disagree with you on one thing. You are crazy if you think porn is going to bring more attention to this site from the authorities. They are all over this board and the others. Your own saftey is up to the way you handle yourself. Don't worry about others. If you look at this board and others, people are going down left an right to the authorities.
